2015 The Players Championship Odds, Free Picks & Predictions – Rory McIlroy the 7/1 Favorite: The PGA golf odds to win the 2015 The Players Championship are now posted online at Bovada Sportsbook and the favorite to win is Rory McIlroy at 7/1 odds. The Players Championship will be held at the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida starting Thursday, May 7th and the final round is set for Sunday, May 10th. The Players Championship first began on the PGA Tour back in 1974. The Players Championship is famous for offering the biggest prize fund of any tournament on the PGA Tour as the total prize fund is set for $10 million in 2015 with the first place winner walking off the course with a hefty sum of $1,800,000 million dollars.

The Players Championship is officially not a “Major” tournament on the PGA Tour but it has always been considered by the pros, fans and media as the unofficial “5th Major” on the PGA Tour due to it’s huge prize fund, sensational playing venue at TPC Sawgrass and the world famous par 3 “Island Green” 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass. The winner of The Players Championship also earns 80 points towards their official World Ranking and that marks the highest point total of any tournament outside of the “Majors” where players earn 100 points.

Last year’s 2014 The Players Championship winner was Gernamny’s Martin Kaymer. Kaymer won the tournament last year by shooting a total four round score of 275 to finish -13 under par. Other recent past winners of The Players Championship the past five years have been USA’s Tiger Woods in 2013, USA’s Matt Kuchar in 2012, South Korea’s K.J. Choi in 2011 and South Africa’s Tim Clark in 2010.
