2015 Shell Houston Open Odds, Free Picks & Predictions: Jordan Spieth 15/2 Favorite at Bovada: The odds to win the 2015 Shell Houston Open have been released at Bovada Sportsbook and the odds makers at Bovada have posted Jordan Spieth as the 15/2 favorite to win. The 2015 Shell Houston Open starts on Thursday, April 2nd from the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas on a beautiful par 72 course that stretches over 7,457 yards. The course was formerly called the Redstone Golf Club and it has been the home of this event on the PGA Tour since 2003.

The Shell Houston Open is the current sponsored name of this event but it first began back in 1946 as simply the Houston Open. It has gone under a variety of different names and sponsors over it’s existence but it has been called the Shell Houston Open every year since taking that name in 1992. This event has been the last scheduled PGA Tour event before the Masters Tournament since 2007 and it gives PGA pros one last chance to scoop up a tour win and earn the automatic invite with a win. There have been 8 consecutive first time winners at the Shell Houston Open since 2007 including last year’s 2014 Shell Houston Open winner Matt Jones. The 34 year-old native of Australia took home the 1st place prize of $1,152,000 last year when he shot a winning score of 273 to finish -15 under par. Jones has 33/1 odds at Bovada to repeat as the Shell Houston Open Champion this year and he would become the first PGA Tour pro since Stuart Appleby in 2006 to win a 2nd career title at this event. Appleby also won the event in 1999. The all-time record for most wins at the Shell Houston Open is held by Vijay Singh and Curtis Strange who both won this event a record three times apiece.
