Oakland Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 11d

Oakland Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 11:  Head football coach Tom Cable has his Oakland Raiders playing old style hard nose Raider football and will take it on the road to take on AFC rival the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET at Heinz Field.  The Raiders come in with a 5-4 record good for 2nd in the AFC West while the Steelers are at 6-3 2nd in the AFC North and both teams have a 5-4 record against the spread.  Pittsburgh got its ass handed to them by the Patriots and is at the same point they lost 5 in a row last year including one to the Raiders.   “You can’t start dredging up things from the past,” safety Ryan Clark said. “This is one night, and one night we need to get better from. Obviously, for our defense, it hurts more because we’re not used to playing this way. We’re not used to giving up yardage the way we did.”  “We did take a hit. No excuses,” cornerback Ike Taylor said. “We have to come back and do what we need to do, feed off of this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”  The Steelers have been less that spectacular since big Ben has returned and need to get it together before its dejavu.   The odds makers at BetUS have the Pittsburgh Steelers -7 1/2 point favorites at home against the Oakland Raiders.

As mentioned the Steelers lost at home to the New England Patriots 39-26 their worst lost at home since 2006.  Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 30 of 49 passes for 387 yards 3 touchdowns and a pick but was sacked 5 times for 38 yards lost.  Mendenhall carried just 11 times for 50 yards and no touchdowns.  Pittsburgh is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games.  Vegas odds makers have the Pittsburgh Steelers as +850 odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl.

The Raiders are coming off a home win in Overtime 23-20 against the division rival the Kansas City Chiefs.   Quarterback Jason Campbell completed 19 of 33 passes for just 229 yards a touchdown and a pick.  Running back Darren McFadden carried 17 times for 89 yards.   The total has gone OVER in 5 of Oakland’s last 7 games on the road.   Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 41 points combined of the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers.

I like the Steelers to win but the Raiders to cover.
