Now the real season begins as the 12 playoff teams start the single elimination tournament. We don’t have to figure out whose resting players or playing vanilla anymore… Good luck to your favorite team…
Last Week 3-2 (60%)
Season 62-69-1 (47%)
Saturday 1/9
Cincinnati – minus 2.5 – How much are we to read into last week’s result? Cincy had nothing to play for while NY had everything to play for. Perhaps NY got some confidence from the game, but one wonders if its fool’s gold. Cincy will push back this week and will lay it all on the line and if they can slow down the running game at all, they will force the Sanchise to win the game. I say Rex Ryan’s big mouth is finally silenced this week.
Dallas – minus 4 – They say one of the toughest things to do in the NFL is to beat a team 3 times in a year. Added to that is Romo has never won a playoff game while McNabb has many wins under his belt. However, Dallas is peaking at the right time and showed that they are too physical for the Eagles. It won’t be a blowout like last week, but Romo gets his first playoff win and moves on….
Sunday 1/10
Baltimore – plus 3 – Do you ever hear an announcer say so and so has never missed a FG or lost when leading at halftime or whatever and your team promptly misses or loses? It’s the kiss of death, I’m telling ya… Anyway, I see an article this week blaring out that Tom Brady has never lost a home playoff game…see where I’m going? The difference is that it was the old Tom Brady that hasn’t lost at home; this year’s edition of Tom Brady and Patriots are anything but clutch. Something is amiss in Foxboro and I see the Ravens winning outright.
Green Bay- Pick – Of all the teams playing on Wildcard weekend, this team looks like the one who can make a run… Arizona is a Jeckel & Hyde team and is certainly capable of beating GB, but if Boldin is not healthy, GB can take away Fitzgerald and give Warner few options. I like how GB is playing on both sides of the ball and see them surviving this game.
