Free NFL Picks from Stephen G. – Week 2 NFL Picks and Predictions 2012: I got off to a sluggish start in week 1 when I only went 2-5. Thats’s the bad news….the good news is it was only one week, there have been many teams who went on to win the superbowl after losing in week 1, so I’m planning on turning this around starting this week. Enough of the excuses, on to the picks…

Sunday 9/16
Indianapolis Plus 3 – Indy has the better QB in this matchup in Andrew Luck and in their home opener, I think they can ride the emotion to keep this one close or even win outright. Give me the points.

NY Giants minus 7 – No way the G-men start 0-2 at home and they’ve been seething since the opener. This will result in taking it out on the Bucs. The Bucs looked good at home in their opener, but there is a world of difference between the Panthers and the world champs.

Baltimore plus 3 – I for one am not sold on Philly being a title contender in the NFC east, nevermind the whole league. Baltimore on the other hand is a superbowl contender. If the offense we saw on display in the opener is the norm for them, then they will be very formidable. I’ll take the points and go with the better team, period.

New Orleans minus 3 – One of these teams who are both divisional contenders will be 0-2 after this game. If I’m putting down money, I have to go with the Saints to rebound and get it done. Carolina’s offense looked terrible and maybe they think they’ve arrived. Saints have a better track record folks.

Dallas minus 3 – If the Cowboys are to be taken seriously this year, they need to follow up the impressive win in the opener with a workmanlike win against an inferior opponent. I may regret this pick, but I’ve got a feeling Dallas is going to have a good year and will take care of business.

Pittsburgh minus 6 – I don’t see the Steelers starting 0-2 and we will see if the Jets win last week was fool’s gold. It’s one thing to light up Buffalo’s defense, its quite another to do it to Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh.

Monday 9/17
Atlanta minus 3 – Peyton was looking like his old self last week, but this Atlanta team is very good at home and were impressive themselves in week one. Communication could be an issue for Peyton with his new teammates in a loud dome environment. I’ll take the Dirty Birds here to prevail.
