Heading into week 4 of the NFL season, there are a lot of divisional games on tap. Personally, I like divisional games because the teams hate each other and chippy games are my kind of games. We have Redskins/Eagles, Pats/Phins, Ravens/Steelers just to name a few… Here are my favorite plays for this weekend. As always, please remember I am not a pro handicapper associated with NSAWins, only a writer and NFL observer.

Sunday 10/3
Pittsburgh (minus 1) I just love the intensity of the games between these two perennial powers, they hate each other and it shows… I’ve been riding the Steeler train all year so far and I see no reason to get off now. Joe Bledsoe Flacco will toss up a few pick opportunities and somehow, someway the Black & Gold will pull it out.
Carolina (plus 13.5) The Panthers historically play well as underdogs when nobody gives them a chance. Conversely, when they are big favorites to roll somebody, they lay eggs, especially at home. Carolina plays New Orleans twice a year and these games are usually competitive… I’ll take a flyer on the Cats keeping it under 14…
New York Jets (-5) The J-E-T-S Jets, Jets Jets, are on a R-O-L-L, roll, roll roll… They go for the divisional sweep against a Bills team that is terrible on defense and offensively won’t be able to do much against the Jets stout D. Sure, Fitzy-boy put up a ton of points against NE, but that was a JV defense my friends… Gang Green wins in a romp….
Indianapolis (-7.5) The regular-season machine is humming along… as always the Colts are unstoppable on offense and any team looking to beat this squad will need to out score them… Ladies & Gentlemen, hate to inform you but the Jaguars are NOT that squad… Rivers and Vick ripped this team a new one already; what will Peyton Gump do? I’ll take Indy, thank you very much..
Philadelphia (minus 6) The homecoming for Donovan “Blowing Chunks” McNabb will be ruined by the Vick Express… I have a ton of respect for Shanahan, but he’s saddled with too many turds like Haynesworth and Portis…give him another year to flush the toilet and he’ll have this team in the hunt. For now though, they aren’t good enough to hang with this hot Eagle team on the road..
Monday 10/4
Miami (plus 1) This NE team is not that NE team, okay? The Patriots cannot play on the road anymore and they didn’t replace the warriors they had from their decade of dominance.. enough said. This defense makes every QB look like a Pro bowler… Henne didn’t need Viagra when he watched the film of this NE defense…I can tell you that!
Miami/New England (Over 46.5) Tom “Bieber-hair” Brady and the offense are capable of beating the Over on their own and NE’s swiss-cheese defense can give up the Over on their own as well… Points will come fast and furious…
