The Bears are coming off a 10-3 win over the Buffalo Bills on a soggy night in which neither team played their starters for more than two series. Quarterback Jay Cutler completed the only pass he threw and was out after one series. The Bears have done their share to assist the Giants in the offseason signing running back Marion Barber and wide receiver Roy Williams from Dallas to improve their skill positions and help Cutler with the offense. The offensive line didn’t get enough play to really determine whether they will be improved this season with younger players. The New York Giants lost their preseason opener 20-10 on the road to the Carolina Panthers and their number one draft pick Cam Newton. Quarterback Eli Manning played 5 series for the Giants and completed just 4 of 9 passes for 36 yards and did not lead the offense to a score. The Giants did miss 2 field goals and had another field goal blocked on a night they just didn’t look like they had it going.
