Where will Vick land?
I tend to look at it from Vick’s perspective, that is, where can I make the most coin? The guy’s in bankruptcy and he needs to maximize his earnings. That said, he would also like to get a chance to play or at least challenge for the starting role in due time. Those reasons alone would seem to rule out New England. I would look for teams that are weak at QB and have owners who aren’t afraid of the negative buzz. Perhaps Minnesota now that they got left at the altar by the perennial attention-starved Favre, or perhaps the kook in Oakland will bring him in…
Super Bowl Loser Jinx
Don’t know what it is, but this super bowl loser jinx is real and is already hitting Arizona. Beanie Wells couldn’t even get in one practice without hurting his ankle…. Look for them to struggle as they were fortunate to even get to the big game last year. They have Jake “5 -pick” Delhomme to thank for that!
Carolina Re-signing Jake Delhomme
Speaking of Jake, what were the Panthers thinking re-signing this guy to big bucks? I would have thought they’d seen enough… I look for Fox and Hurney to get shown the door after this year. They have never put together back to back playoff seasons and don’t see them bucking that trend this year.
Preseason Favorites
This time of year you start hearing all the pundits declaring their favorites for the super bowl. It seems New England is getting a lot of play on these lists, but if you ask me, their defense has a lot to prove before they get my vote. Sure, they’ll score if Brady returns without missing a beat but they’ll have problems with the good teams if they play defense like they did last year. Ask yourself this, what have they done to improve their pass rush?
