2020 Indianapolis Colts Odds to Win AFC South, AFC Title & Super Bowl from Bovada
The AFC Conference this season appears to be a couple of heavyweights in Kansas City and Baltimore and then a bunch of question marks. Today we take a look at the NFL odds for one of those question marks in the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts went 7-9 last season to win the AFC South. The Colts have not won the AFC South since 2014 but are the +135 favorites to win it in the latest 2020 AFC South Division Odds.
Head coach Frank Reich was dealt a bad hand before the start of last season when quarterback Andrew Luck decided to retire. It shocked the sports world and took the life out of the Colts organization before the season even started. Reich made the best of it with quarterback Jacoby Brissett but he just wasn’t the long-term answer.
The Colts decided to sign free agent veteran quarterback Philip Rivers to be their starter this season. We aren’t fans of Rivers and never have been. The guy is far too inconsistent year to year and he just isn’t a guy that will ever win a title in our eyes. With Rivers in the fold and the Colts defense getting better, we aren’t ruling out the Colts winning the AFC South and making some noise in the postseason. The real reason for optimism about the Colts in our opinion is the defense. On paper it doesn’t appear they are that good as they finished 18th in the NFL in points allowed per game at 23.3. However, they aren’t far off from being a Top 10 caliber defense and they have themselves a stud in linebacker Darius Leonard.
Leonard has 12 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 7 interceptions in his first two seasons. This season he should break out and be an all pro. He’s that good. Leonard has +3500 odds to win the 2020 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
