The New England Patriots come into this game with a 7-2 overall record and 6-3 against the spread. The Patriots have ripped off 6 wins in a row after starting the season 1-2. New England beat Green Bay 31-17 on Sunday Night Football at home in Foxboro last week.

The haters and naysayers were out in full force after week 3 of the 2018 season when New England fell to 1-2 after an embarrassing 26-10 loss at Detroit. However, they are all quite and in hiding now after New England has played some of the best football in the NFL over the last 6 weeks and once again have positioned themselves as a favorite to reach the Super Bowl out of the AFC.

New England comes in averaging 387.6 yards per game and 5.9 yards per play offensively. Those numbers aren’t as prolific as they usually are for the Patriots but they have been battling injuries and suspensions all year to key players. Defensively, the Patriots are giving up 381 yards per game and 5.9 yards per play. The Patriots are coming off two of their best defensive games of the season the last 2 weeks so they are trending up.

The Tennessee Titans enter this week 4-4 overall and 5-3 against the spread. First year head coach Mike Vrabel had his team ready to play last Monday night as they went down to Arlington, Texas an picked up a much needed 28-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys to even up their record.

The Titans started off the season as one of the league’s biggest surprises as they were 3-1 overall after September. However, a 3 game losing streak in October left them at 3-4 overall and putting themselves in almost a must win situation against the Cowboys with the New England Patriots on their schedule this week. The Titans passed the test with flying colors last Monday night as they controlled the game throughout and now have themselves in position to make a run at the AFC South Division title or a Wild Card spot the rest of the way.

The Titans offense comes in averaging just 288.3 yards per game and 5.1 yards per play. The defense is allowing 333.5 yards per game and 5.7 yards per play. The Titans must rely on their defense to limit the points of their opponent each game as they simply don’y have the firepower offensively to win shootouts or the talent on offense to keep the chains moving to go on many long drives.

We like New England to win this game and open it up in the 2nd half. The Titans secondary is a problem area and we look for Tom Brady to pick apart former Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler who has been getting toasted regularly this season.
