2018 AFC East Division Predictions and Odds to Win

1. New England Patriots(-640 odds to win AFC East at Bovada) – The Patriots have won the AFC East the last 9 years in a row and 14 out of the last 15 season. Simply put, they own this division and that shouldn’t change this year. The Patss are coming off of a tough Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles but they still have head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady for at least this season. That should be more then good enough to see New England claim a remarkable 10th straight AFC East title even though there are some legit concerns over the talent on defense and the offense will have to overcome the loss of wide receiver Julian Edelman for the 1st four games after he received a suspension for PED use.

2. Buffalo Bills(+1325 odds to win AFC East at Bovada) – The Bills are on the right track under 2nd year head coach Sean McDermott. The Bills finished 9-7 last season and made the NFL playoffs for the 1st time in 17 seasons. The team has been building their overall talent level up nicely over the past two off seasons and we liked their decision to sign free agent quarterback A.J. McCarron in addition to using their 1st round pick on quarterback Josh Allen out of Wyoming. Both players are pocket passers with good upside and we simply were never sold on former Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor ever being able to take the Bills far in the postseason.

3. Miami Dolphins(+1325 odds to win AFC East at Bovada) – The Dolphins took a big step back last season finishing 6-10 overall after entering the season with high expectations after finishing 10-6 overall in the first season under head coach Adam Gase. Gase heads into year 3 in South Florida as the Dolphins head coach and he will need to get the ship turned around if he hopes to last. The Dolphins get quarterback Ryan Tannehill back from his torn ACL injury and that should be an upgrade over quarterback Jay Cutler who came out of retirement last season to start for the Dolphins. Cutler has never been a winner or a guy that gets his teammates to believe that he can lead them anywhere.

4. New York Jets(+1550 odds to win AFC East at Bovada) – The New York Jets decided to bring back head coach Todd Bowles for a 4th season even though he is just 20-28 after his first three seasons including 5-11 in each of the last two years. What’s the love affair with this guy? He’s a terrible coach in our eyes but to each their own. The good news for Jets fans and Bowles is the front office decided to try and get a talented quarterback for a change by using their 1st round pick on Sam Darnold out of USC. Darnold has talent but could be a year or two away from really being able to make the Jets contenders to win the AFC East.
