The Tennessee Titans enter this week with a 2-1 overall record and 2-1 against the spread. The Titans are coming off of an impressive 33-27 home win over the Seattle Seahawks as a -2 point favorite.

The Titans were a popular pick this offseason to make a move in the AFC and not only challenge for the AFC South Division title but also as a sleeper to do damage in the playoffs. The Titans have looked the part so far as they have bounced back from a week 1 26-16 loss at home to Oakland with two straight wins over an improved Jacksonville Jaguars squad with a 37-16 win and last week’s 33-27 win over the always tough Seattle Seahawks.

The Titans strength is their offense led by quarterback Marcus Mariotta. Mariotta has started off slow as he returns from last season’s broken fibula injury that he suffered in week 16. Mariotta has a 86.9 quarterback rating and has passed for 696 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception so far. We expect Mariotta to keep getting better as the season progresses and he gets more comfortable in the pocket as he puts last year’s injury aside from his memory. Last week was a good start as Mariotta’s offense totaled 420 yards against Seattle’s standout defense.

The Houston Texans come into this week’s AFC South showdown 2-1 overall and 2-1 against the spread. The Texans look to bounce back after last week’s tough 36-33 last minute loss to the New England Patriots and the great Tom Brady.

The Texans have always been one of the AFC’s enigma’s as they have fielded one of the best defenses in the league but were always held back by extremely mediocre quarterback play. That has changed this season as the Texans have finally found a stud to build aruound as rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson is a future star in the making.

The Texans rookie qb hung up 33 points last week in Foxboro against the Patriots and almost won a shootout against Tom Brady. Let that sink in for a moment. Watson has only started two games so far but he’s already shown he belongs and he will continue to get better and better. Watson makes his first start at home this week and we expect him to play well against a Titans defense that is far from elite.
