Sunday, September 18th, 2016
Miami @ New England OVER 41.5 – The New England Patriots proved last Sunday that they have no plans of going anywhere in the absence of Tom Brady whether it’s for four games or in the future. As long as head coach Bill Belichick is roaming the sidelines for the Patriots then they will simply be a force to be reckoned with in the National Football League. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo looked solid in his first career start as he led the Patriots to a 23-21 upset win and tossed for 264 yards and 1 touchdown while finishing with a 106.1 quarterback rating. Meanwhile, the Dolphins enter this AFC East matchup looking to get back to .500 after dropping their opener 12-10 on the road in Seattle in which their offense struggled. We look for the Dolphins offense to play better this week and we certainly look for Garoppolo and New England to continue to score points this week especially if tight end Rob Gronkowski returns to the lineup after practicing all week. Play the OVER.
Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh OVER 48.5 – This game should be the best game on Sunday to watch as the intensity should be at an all-time high between these two bitter rivals in the AFC North. These two teams have plenty of bad blood left over from last year’s AFC Playoff Game that saw the Steelers go into Cincinnati and pull off the upset 18-16. That game saw Steelers all pro wideout Antonio Brown take a cheap shot in the head and was knocked out of the playoffs. Brown will be ready to go this week after a sensational week 1 performance against the Redskins and we look for Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to dial his number planet of times and put up plenty of points in the process. On the other hand, we also look for Cincinnati to put up plenty of points of their own against a suspect Steelers defense and quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver AJ Green should keep the Bengals in this game all day long. Play the OVER and look for plenty of points.
Carolina -13 over San Francisco – The Carolina Panthers and last season’s MVP Cam Newton return home this Sunday looking for their first win of the season after losing a tough one on the road at Denver in their opener. Newton took too many hits to the head in week 1 but will be ready to go this week and he should have a monster day going up against a terrible San Francisco team. Plenty of people might be fooled by the 49ers after they spanked the St Louis Rams 28-0 in their season opener on Monday night but not us. Frankly, the 49ers are a terrible team who just got lucky in that they went up against a terrible St Louis offense and a head coach in Jeff Fisher who is easily one of the most overrated coaches in sports. The 49ers will find out the hard way this Sunday that they aren’t as good as they think they are and Carolina should romp. Lay the points.
