Sunday, September 27th, 2015
New England Patriots -13.5 over Jacksonville Jaguars – This game will be an outright blood bath. Double digit favorites sometimes overlook their opponents and fail to cover the spread because they know they can turn it on when they have to and win the game. Head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady won’t let that happen to a Patriots team this Sunday as they are hell bent on making the NFL pay for the “Deflategate” witch hunt that tried to ruin their reputations. The Patriots are on a mission to embarrass teams this year and they got themselves an opponent on Sunday that is overmatched and won’t be able to slow down New England’s high powered offensive attack. Look for Brady to toss another 4 TD’s on Sunday and the Pats offense to roll oup 40 plus points in a blowout. Lay the points and take New England -13.5 before the line keeps moving up.
Pittsburgh Steelers +1 over St Louis Rams – The Steelers got themselves back on track in week 2 with a 43-18 blowout win at Heinz Field over the San Francisco 49ers to even their record at 1-1. The Steelers offense was unstoppable as Big Ben tossed for over 300 yards and 3 TD’s and should be able to keep the offense humming this week against a St Louis Rams defense that’s given up 55 points in it’s first two games against solid but not great offenses in Seattle and Washington. The Rams had a lot of people fooled after their week 1 win over Seattle but they didn’t fool us and they are nothing more than an average .500 team at best. Look for the Steelers to control this game offensively and the Rams won’t have an answer for Steelers all pro wide receiver Antonio Brown. Take the Steelers +1.
Buffalo Bills +3 at Miami Dolphins – Head coach Rex Ryan had to eat some humble pie after getting embarrassed in his home stadium against New England as Tom Brady tossed for 466 yards and put up 40 points against Ryan’s highly touted defense in a 40-32 Patriots win. We are of the opinion that was a abnormality and that the Bills are indeed an AFC playoff team and do possess one of the NFL’s top 5 overall defenses. We look for Ryan’s Bills defense to get back on track big time in week 3 against the Dolphins who have struggled to run the ball in week 1 and week 2 as they’ve only racked up 74 and 42 yards rushing in their first two games. The Bills don’t want to go 0-2 in the AFC East Division as they have high hopes of challenging New England for the AFC East title and this game is very important to them. Look for the Bills to bounce back nicely and win outright but take the +3 points for insurance.
