Detroit Lions +1 over St Louis Rams – The Detroit Lions enter this week’s action 4-8 overall after losing last week at home on a hail mary pass to Green Bay 27-23. Despite the loss the Lions once again showed they are playing good football and should have won their 4th straight game if not for the fluke ending. Meanwhile, the St Louis Rams enter this week’s game 4-8 overall but are coming in losers in their last five games. The Rams are playing terrible football right now and have been outscored the last two weeks by a combined score of 58-10 against the Bengals and Cardinals. The Lions are certainly not at the level of the Bengals or Cardinals this season but we like them a lot in this spot this week as they are playing much better overall football and are going up against a Rams team that looks like it’s quitting on the season and their head coach. Take the Detroit Lions +1 this Sunday on the spread.

Pittsburgh Steelers +3 over Cincinnati Bengals – The Pittsburgh Steelers look to avoid letting their AFC North rivals celebrate a division title this week when they look to avoid a season series sweep to the Cincinnati Bengals in Cincinnati. The Steelers are 7-5 overall and playing outstanding football of late as come in riding a 4 game winning streak including an impressive 45-10 win at home last Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers lost 16-10 earlier this season at home to the Bengals who come into this week’s game 10-2 overall. The Bengals have their eyes not only on the division title but can also secure the #1 overall seed in the AFC Playoffs if they win out. However, we don’t see that happening as we believe the Steelers have what it takes to go into Cincinnati and win outright. The Steelers offense has been lights out the last 4 weeks scoring 143 points and will be too much for the Bengals to contend with this week in a revenge game for Pittsburgh. Take the Steelers and the +3 points.

Washington Redskins +3.5 over Chicago Bears – The Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears both come into week 14 NFL action with identical 5-7 records but the Redskins have much more to play for as they are in the middle of a close NFC East Division race to win the division and make the playoffs. The Redskins missed an excellent opportunity to take control of the NFC East on Monday night as they lost at home to Dallas 19-16. Despite the loss the Redskins still control their own destiny in the NFC East and can’t afford a slip up this week in a very winnable game against a mediocre Chicago Bears team. The Bears are coming off of a 26-20 home loss to the San Francisco 49ers
and are now only 1-5 overall at home. The Redskins aren’t any better on the road as they are winless at 0-5 away from home coming into this week’s game. Something has to give and our money is on Washington getting +3.5 points as we feel they are the better overall team, have more to play for and have owned this series the past decade as they are 5-0 against the Bears. Take the Redskins +3.5 points.
