2015 NFL Picks & Predictions – Top 3 Favorites to Win Super Bowl 50 & Expert Pick
1. Green Bay Packers(+500 odds to Win Super Bowl 50 at Bovada) – The Packers were right on the door step of going to last year’s Super Bowl and having an excellent chance at beating a New England team they had already beaten in the regular season. However, the other shoe dropped in a big time way in the 2nd half of the NFC Championship Game against Seattle as Green Bay gagged away a big 4th quarter lead and ended up losing in devastating fashion in overtime. The Packers will have a chip on their shoulder this season as they know they let one get away and will be determined to dominate all season long so they can secure home field advantage in the NFC Playoffs and not let one get away again. The Packers were loaded on offense coming into preseason but a season ending injury to star receiver Jordy Nelson has certainly made quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ job harder this season. However, make no mistake, the Packers will find a way to get the job done offensively without Nelson as Rodgers is the best quarterback in the business and Green Bay should end up with the NFC’s best regular season record in our opinion.
2. Seattle Seahawks(+600 odds to Win Super Bowl 50 at Bovada) – The Seahawks were literally just 36 inches away from winning back-to-back Super Bowls and putting their hat in the ring for the title of the NFL’s best defense of all-time and on the verge of a modern day NFL dynasty. However, a silly boneheaded decision by head coach Pete Carrol and an all-time great play by New England rookie cornerback Malcolm Butler put an end to all that talk and made for a long offseason in the Pacific Northwest for the Seahawks players, coaches and fans. Having said all that, make no mistake, the Seahawks are once again loaded this 2015 NFL season and will have the NFL’s best defense again to go along with a physical offense that should only be better with the addition of former New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham. Look for quarterback Russell Wilson, running back Marshawn Lynch, cornerback Richard Sherman and the rest of Seattle’s young talented core to rally the troops once again and be back in the NFC Title Game for the 3rd straight season at minimum.
3. New England Patriots(+900 odds to Win Super Bowl 50 at Bovada) – The Indianapolis Colts actually have the 3rd best odds to win Super Bowl 50 at Bovada but we ain’t buying it until they learn to play defense and come within 3 touchdowns of hanging with New England on the field. Seriously, based on what are we supposed to believe Indy can hang with head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady and especially now after they went to the principal’s office to tattle tale like a bunch of school girls because they thought New England was letting a little air out of the ball? What a farce. Look for New England to rally around their leader Tom Brady like a pack of hungry hyena’s stalking their prey and be a team on a mission all year long to quiet all the haters and morons in the media that think PSI is the reason they blew the doors off of the soft Colts last season, not once but twice. New England will have to make up for the big losses of cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner but their offense will be improved with the additions of veteran Scott Chandler at tight end and Reggie Wayne at wideout, while their improving front seven on defense should help make up for the losses on the back end of their defense. In the end, never ever count out the Hoodie and Brady. They are winners. Period.
