Larry Brown and Bobcats Fined for Abusing Replacement Refs
Is David Stern a piece of work or what? This pompous ass has always been a tool of the 1st order in my opinion, but his recent hefty fines on Charlotte head coach Larry Brown($60,000), Charlotte Bobcats($60,000) and Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Simmons($25,000) for verbally abusing the NBA replacement refs takes the cake. Are you kidding me Stern? You replace the worst refs in sports with even worse replacement refs and you have to protect them from getting yelled and screamed at by coaches and players that, god forbid, expect them to make the right calls? This isn’t little league for cris sakes. These replacement refs should go coach the CYO league if they don’t want to get yelled at. I watched a Rockets-Celtics preseason game last week that had both teams combine for 75 fouls and shoot 102 free throws!!! If that’s not piss poor officiating than I don’t know what is. Like my old man says, put the pea away and let the boys play! Good lord.
It’s Early but the New England Patriots look to be Pretenders
I know it’s early and they don’t hand out awards and trophies in October, but I think I’ve seen enough of New England’s act to come to the conclusion that they ain’t winning jack squat come January. And, no, it’s not because their defense isn’t good enough to win with in January. I actually think their defense is pretty solid right now and will actually improve as the season goes along. It’s the offense and poor coaching that will prevent this team from doing anything when it counts. Yes, Bill Belichick is the best head coach in the NFL in the opinion of yours truly and many others. However, all the recent defections of top assistants over the past few seasons has taken it’s toll on the entire staff. The offensive playcalling is just that… offensive. No imagination at all and if I can predict if the play is going to be a run or pass 95% of the time, than don’t you think defensive coordinators can? Aside from coaching, Tom Brady is playing like a JAG right now. He has overthrown wide open receivers for easy touchdowns in each of his last three games, is not hitting receivers in stride and falls asleep in the pocket allowing defenders to strip sack him for fumbles that should be avoided. The guy flat out stinks so far this season and it’s time for the Tom Brady rumpswabs to admit it and call this diva out. Maybe he should bring his man purse out to the huddle with him because he’s been playing like a woman thru the first 5 weeks.
The MLB Baseball Playoffs are Playing and Does ANYONE Care?
In case you missed it the MLB Baseball Playoffs are now in the ALCS and NLCS round. Does anyone care? I certainly don’t. I used to be a huge baseball fan growing up but like many others I’ve gotten away from the game as I’ve gotten older. Why? Well, for starters, the season is just too damn long. Is it really necessary to play 162 regular season games over 6 months? I mean, c’mon, shouldn’t we be able to seperate the men from the boys in, I don’t know, 5 months? Can’t we start the playoffs in early September so that we can get the World Series wrapped up by the 1st week of October? Less is more Bud Selig and the rest of you clueless idiots that run MLB Baseball. I knew in July that the Boston Red Sox had a popgun attack for an offense and would get exposed come playoff time. Do you think giving them another 30 games to play in the regular season changed anything? The NFL has it down to a science. Keep the games to a minimum, increase each game’s importance, allow fans to devote a minimum amount of time each week to watching their favorite team play and keep the fans hungry for more instead of being bored with too much. Is it really this difficult to understand?
