New Orleans Hornets at Miami Heat 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions

New Orleans Hornets at Miami Heat 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions:  Point guard Chris Paul will lead the New Orleans Hornets on the road to the American Airlines Arena to take on the sizzling Miami Heat on Monday night at 7:30 PM ET.  The Hornets have lost 9 of 12 games and are 14-9 3rd in the Southwest after starting out 8-0 while the Heat have won 8 consecutive and now are 17-8 1st in the Southeast.  Miami just completed a 4 game west coast road trip undefeated and are playing like most expected they would early in the season.  “We have a different mentality both off the floor and on the court as well,” shooting guard Dwyane Wade said after scoring 36 points – his fifth straight game with at least 25. “… We understood and knew November was a tough month for us. But with that adversity there was a lot of growth going on. It was just about when it was going to click and right now it’s clicking for us.”   LeBron James and Chris Bosh are both playing more like their potential as well and all 8 wins have been by double digits.  The odds makers at Bodog have the Miami Heat a -11 point favorite at home against the New Orleans Hornets.

The Heat is coming off a 104-83 win on the road against the Sacramento Kings to move to 12-13 ATS for the season.   Dwayne Wade scored 36 points with 6 rebounds and 6 assist to lead the Heat.  LeBron chipped in 25 points, 10 rebounds and 3 dimes while Chris Bosh scored 14 points and pulled down a season high 17 boards.  It’s about time Bosh started hitting the glass.  Miami is 10-2 SU in its last 12 games when playing at home against New Orleans and when playing on Monday is 6-4.  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Heat +220 to win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.

The Hornets are coming off an 88-70 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on the road to move to 11-11-1 ATS for the season.  Chris Paul was the only Hornet in double figures with 25 points 2 rebounds and 3 assists and Trevor Ariza had 5 points while pulling down 10 rebounds.  New Orleans is 10-0-1 ATS in its last 11 games when playing Miami and the total has gone UNDER in 5 of New Orleans’s last 5 games on the road.  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 185 points combined of Miami Heat and New Orleans Hornets.

I like the way the Heat are finishing games and predict another victory.
