Miami Heat at New York Knicks 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions

Miami Heat at New York Knicks 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions: Two time MVP LeBron James will lead the sizzling Miami Heat on the road to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knickerbockers on Friday night at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN.  The Knicks come into the game on an 8-1 run at 16-10 2nd in the Atlantic while the Heat have won 10 consecutive on the way to a 19-8 record good enough for 1st in the Southeast.  The resurgent Knicks will pose a good test to a Heat team that has seemed to come together recently and have all the pieces to make a title run.  Head Coach Mike D’Antoni saw how LeBron and the Heat treated a hostile Cleveland crowd.  “I’m going to be nice, don’t worry,” the New York Knicks coach said Thursday.  “One of the best players in the world and he always rises up to the occasion,” D’Antoni said. “Whether we’re nice to him or not, it’s not going to matter. Playing in New York is special and he, Wade, Bosh, they’ll all be ready and it’s a big game again. We don’t have our streak going, but they have theirs going.”  The odds makers at JustBET have the Miami Heat a -5 point favorite on the road against the New York Knicks.

The Heat have won 10 in a row most recently at home 101-95 over the Cleveland Cavaliers to break their string of double digit victories and move to 12-14-1 ATS for the season.  Shooting Guard Dwayne Wade led the Heat with 28 points and 6 rebounds while LeBron dropped in 21 points and snagged 13 boards with 5 dimes.  Chris Bosh added 16 points with only 4 rebounds and Mario Chalmers chipped in with 14 points.  Miami is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing New York and the total has gone OVER in 6 of Miami’s last 7 games when playing New York.  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Heat +210 to win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.

The Knicks are coming off a home loss to the Boston Celtics 118-116 where Amare Stoudemire hit a desperation three just after time expired from way downtown and they move to and impressive 18-7-1 ATS for the season.  Stoudemire scored 39 points and had 10 boards his 9th consecutive game of 30 or more points.  “I figure as long we keep winning and keep having success, that’s what the fans want to see. That’s what is most important in New York,” Stoudemire said. “So LeBron right now is in Miami and we’re in New York. It’s going to be a battle tomorrow night.”  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 210 1/2 points combined of Miami Heat and New York Knicks.

I predict another Heat road win!
