Miami Heat at Boston Celtics Game 4 Expert Picks, Odds and Predictions – NBA Playoffs Betting Preview 5/9/11: Sharp Shooting Dwayne “Flash” Wade will lead the Miami Heat on the road to the TD Garden to take on counterpart Guard Ray Allen the all-time leader in 3 point shots and the Boston Celtics on Monday night at 7:00 PM ET on TNT Sports. Boston put itself back in the series with a 97-81 victory at home on Saturday night cutting the Heat series lead in half to 2-1 and an opportunity to even the series at home.
The Celtics didn’t win without a cost as point Guard Rajon Rondo dislocated his left elbow but later returned to the game and played effectively with basically the use of just one arm. He made a steal and drove the floor for a layup with his left arm just hanging loosely on his side. On the Miami side one might have thought Chris Bosh was injured or missing in action as he was ineffective and a no show. Later Bosh admitted he was overwhelmed by the magnitude of the playoffs but says he is over it and will improve. The Celtics held the big 3 Heat players to a total of 44 points the lowest of the season for the trio. The odds makers at Bodog have the Miami Heat a -1 point favorite on the road against the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics were led by big Kevin Garnett who looked like the dominant player he was regularly just a few years ago by scoring 28 points and grabbing 18 rebounds to lead all players in both categories. Forward Paul Pierce also had an outstanding game with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Allen chipped in 15 points while Rondo was held to 6 points but dished 11 assists. Rondo is a game time decision for tonight’s game. Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 181 points combined of the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.
The Heatles were led by Wade with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists while LeBron James added 15 points 7 boards and 4 dimes. Bosh was held to 6 points and 5 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. Guard Mario Chalmers scored 17 points, pulled down 4 rebounds and had 3 assists but the reserve getting the most attention was Joel Anthony with 12 points and 11 rebounds for his first playoff double double of his career. Vegas odds makers have the Miami Heat +250 to win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.
I predict the Heat win Game 4 on the road and win the series in 5 overall.
