The NBA is still in it’s free agency period this offseason, but it’s never too early for NBA fans to take a look at who vegas oddsmakers are listing as the favorites to capture the NBA Championship this upcoming 2009-2010 season. The defending world champion LA Lakers, under the stellar coaching of Phil Jackson and play of superstar Kobe Bryant, are once again the favorites at +150(1.5/1). Time will tell if those odds stay the same if LaMar Odom decides to jump ship and sign with Miami. The team with the second best odds to capture the NBA title this season are the Cleveland Cavaliers at +250(2.5/1). Lebron James welcomes Shaquille O’Neal to an improved Cavs roster, but that still may not be enough to get out of the Eastern Conference, nevermind enough to win the whole enchalada. The Boston Celtics, who added Rasheed Wallace in free agency to improve it’s roster, carry the 3rd best odds to win it all at +400(4/1). Rounding out the top 5 are the Orlando Magic(+750, 7.5/1) and San Antonio Spurs(+800, 8/1).
