Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions

Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions:  The Cleveland Cavaliers travel to the American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM ET to take on former player and MVP LeBron James and his new team the Miami Heat for the 2nd time this season.  Miami won the first meeting in Cleveland by 28 points and the initially boisterous crowd settled down as the Heat pulled away and LeBron chatted it up with his former teammates.  The Heat come in winning 9 consecutive games and are at 18-8 1st in the Southeast while the Cavs have lost 7 straight and are at 7-17 5th in the Central and going in the opposite direction.   “It doesn’t feel like just another opponent,” James said. “I’ll probably be talking to them … again,” The Cavs play down the matchup.  “Our concern is not them right now, it’s us,” Cavs guard Mo Williams said following practice Tuesday. “We’re going through a tough time right now and we need to get a win. We need to stay positive and stay focused and this thing will turn around. Nobody likes to lose. We definitely know we can play better. We can’t let anything else cloud our goal and our goal is getting better.”   The odds makers at BetUS have the Miami Heat a -17 point favorite at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Heat are coming off a home win 96-84 over the New Orleans Hornets for their 9th win in a row by double digits to move to 12-13-1 ATS for the season.  The Big Three continued to gel as Dwayne Wade poured in 32 points and 5 boards, Chris Bosh chipped in 23 points and 11 rebounds, and LeBron scored 20 with 4 boards and 7 dimes to lead the Heat.  Miami is 7-0-1 ATS in its last 8 games.  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Heat +210 to win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.

The Cavaliers have not won a game since losing to the Heat and most recently took a beating 106-77 on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder moving to 9-14-1 ATS for the season.  Shooting guard Anthony Parker led all Cavs scorers with 12 points and the only other in double figures was Denial Gibson with 11 points. The total has gone OVER in 4 of Cleveland’s last 5 games when playing on the road against Miami.  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 193 1/2 points combined of Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers.

I predict another big win by Miami. Go Heat!
