2015 NBA Draft Predictions: Mock Draft – Projected Lottery Picks for the 2015 NBA Draft: The 2015 NBA Draft Lottery is in the books, and for the first time in several years, the team with the best chance of landing the No. 1 pick, the Minnesota Timberwolves, actually cashed in. The Los Angeles Lakers were also big winners as they grabbed the No. 2 spot, moving up from their projected No. 4 spot and holding on to their Top-5 protected pick. On the flip side, the New York Knicks were the biggest loser, netting the No. 4 pick despite finishing with the second worst record. The Philadelphia 76ers also had to be a bit disappointed. They had a chance to have three of the first 11 picks if the picks fell just right, but instead, they ended up with just the No. 3 pick.

- Minnesota Timberwolves: Karl-Anthony Towns, PF, Kentucky Wildcats
His offensive versatility, length and overall athleticism give him the potential to become a two-way force. He would also give the Timberwolves a young player with a high ceiling to build around at basically every position.
- Los Angeles Lakers: Jahlil Okafor, C, Duke Blue Devils
His polished back-to-the-basket game is unheard of for a big man as young as Okafor, and his NBA-ready body will allow him to become an immediate offensive weapon for a team that desperately needs an interior presence.
- Philadelphia 76ers: D’Angelo Russell, PG, Ohio State Buckeys
The 76ers need a point guard, and they really need perimeter firepower. Russell provides both with his smooth stroke and solid all-around game.
- New York Knicks: Emmanuel Mudiay, PG, China
He will upgrade the point guard spot in a big way, and he has the physical tools to get into the paint and open things up for teammates. Mudiay could become a really special player if he can develop a consistent jumper.
- Orlando Magic: Kristaps Porzingis, PF, Latvia
He size and shooting ability making him a perfect fit for a team that needs a little more height up front as well as some extra pop from the perimeter.
- Sacramento Kings: Justise Winslow, SF, Duke Blue Devils
The Kings desperately a defensive-minded hustler that isn’t afraid to do the dirty work. Winslow is just that, and he has some offensive upside.
- Denver Nuggets: Willie Cauley-Stein, C, Kentucky Wildcats
He has great athleticism for his size, making him a perfect fit for Denver’s up-tempo attack. He will also provide the team with a much-needed rim protector.
- Detroit Pistons: Myles Turner, PF, Texas Longhorns
With Greg Monroe likely on the way out in free agency, Turner will slide into the power forward spot. His ability to stretch the floor will work perfectly alongside the post-based game of Andre Drummond.
- Charlotte Hornets: Devin Booker, SG, Kentucky Wildcats
Booker has arguably the purest stroke from beyond the arc of any player in this draft, and no team shot a worse percentage from 3-point range last year than Charlotte.
- Miami Heat: Mario Hezonja, SF, Croatia
Miami’s pick will largely depend on which players leave, if any, in free agency, but for now, adding Hezonja’s perimeter scoring makes a lot of sense.
- Indiana Pacers: Frank Kaminsky, C, Wisconsin Badgers
The Pacers have plenty of size inside, but none of their current big men offer anything in the way of versatility. Kaminsky would change that, and Indiana could certainly use his ability to stretch the floor.
- Utah Jazz: Stanley Johnson, SF, Arizona Wildcats
Utah is developing into one of the toughest defensive teams in the league, and Johnson would help on both ends of the court. He is a big, athletic small forward with an NBA-ready body. His offensive ceiling is up for debate, but he should be a solid contributor either way.
- Phoenix Suns: Bobby Portis, PF, Arkansas Razorbacks
The Suns need another big man that isn’t afraid to throw his body around on both ends of the court, and Portis knows how to use his 6-11 frame. He could become a Zach Randolph-type player for a team that needs some interior toughness.
- Oklahoma City Thunder: Kelly Oubre, SF, Kansas Jayhawks
Oubre has the perimeter scoring ability that the Thunder need on the wing, and more importantly, he also has the size and athleticism to be a quality wing defender.
