However, not even Junior could hang on to the top spot as Kevin Harvick bumped his way by with less than 10 laps to go. Unlike Busch and Junior, Harvick was able to seal the deal and get to Victory Lane.

If anyone can challenge Johnson for Martinsville supremacy, it’s Denny Hamlin. He has finished outside the top 12 only once in 12 career starts, and his 6.6 average finish at the track is the second best in the series. Jeff Gordon has seven career wins at Martinsville, including four since the start of the 2003 season. Not to mention the fact that he has finished in the top five in 13 of his last 14 starts at the track. Whenever the series heads to Martinsville, Gordon has a chance to get to Victory Lane.

He isn’t known as a flat track specialist, but Kyle Busch has been on the mark in his recent starts at Martinsville. He has three finishes of fourth or better in his last four starts at the track, and he led the most laps at the track earlier this year. Busch has enjoyed the best season of his career at flat tracks, and his first career Martinsville win could be in the works.
There are plenty of fans that would love to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. get to Victory Lane this weekend, and for once, he has a legit chance. Junior has six top-15 finishes in his last seven starts at Martinsville, including a second-place run earlier this year. During his last seven starts, he has five top-10 finishes and a pair of runner-up efforts.
