2011 Sylvania 300 Expert Picks: Betting on Underdogs for Big Payoffs – How to Bet on the 2011 Sylvania 300: The 2011 season continues to be full of surprises on the heels of Tony Stewart’s surprise victory at Chicagoland. With five first-time winners already in the books, a breakout year for Brad Keselowski, and the return to prominence of four-time champ Jeff Gordon, the season hasn’t followed the script that anyone predicted. While the year has been tough on bettors in some ways, the trend of upset winners has led to some big paydays for bettors. There are nine races left for bettors to cash in, starting this weekend at New Hampshire, and A.J. Allmendinger and Joey Logano are two drivers that could help out bettors.
Although he started his career with five straight finishes of 25th or worse at New Hampshire, Allmendinger has quietly flipped the switch at the 1.0-mile track. He has two 12th-place finishes and a 10th-place finish in his last three starts. Not to mention the fact that he has been on a roll in the past month or so. Allmendinger has five finishes of 12th or better in the six races leading up to this weekend’s trip to New Hampshire. Armed with a new crew chief, he finally appears capable of grabbing his first career Cup victory.
It would be fitting for the win to come at a flat track like New Hampshire. In Allmendinger’s brief career, a majority of his success has come at the flat tracks. This year alone, he has three top-15 finishes at flat tracks, including his 12th-place finish at New Hampshire. Allmendinger also has at least one top-10 finishes at all five flat tracks on the current schedule. He is running well and heading to a track where he has had a lot of success. At his current 80/1 odds, there is a lot for bettors to love about Allmendinger.
Logano is another sleeper pick with a history of success at New Hampshire. For starters, his first career Cup Series victory came at the track. It is his lone career win in the series to date, but he will be looking to change that this weekend. With three top-10 finishes in his last five starts at NHMS, bettors may want take a chance on him doing just that this weekend, especially at his current 40/1 odds.
He nearly got to Victory Lane at the track earlier this year when he finished fourth, adding to his already impressive flat track resume. Logano averages a top-20 finish at all five flat tracks on the current series schedule, and he has more top-five finishes at NHMS than any other track. The Joe Gibbs Racing program has always been strong at the flat tracks, which only helps Logano’s chances. As a proven winner, he could be a steal for bettors at his current odds.
