In the offseason, Menard joined Richard Childress Racing, putting him behind the wheel of some of the best equipment in the series. Case in point, the aforementioned Harvick drives for RCR as well. Menard is already enjoying the best season of his career, and it could get even better as he gets a shot at one of his top tracks. If he does get his first career Cup win this weekend, bettors will want to be a part of it.
Another driver that could surprise the field is David Reutimann. His 45/1 odds equal some serious money for bettors if he gets to Victory Lane, and history tells us that Reutimann will win at some point in 2011. In 2009, he won at Charlotte. Last year, he won at Chicagoland. Like Texas, both tracks have 1.5-mile layouts.
He has had some measure of success at the track in the past, notching three top-15 finishes in his last five starts. The numbers are very similar to those he put up at Charlotte and Chicagoland before breaking through with victories. Reutimann has proven he can win at 1.5-mile tracks on the Cup level.
