2011 Food City 250 Odds, Predictions, Betting Tips and Free Picks – Favorites and Lines to Win the Food City 250: The night race in Nationwide Series race at Bristol is one of the most popular events for fans and most coveted events for drivers. Plenty of big names show up on the entry list each and every year to take on the bullring under the lights. This year’s race is no exception as Clint Bowyer and Kasey Kahne join the more traditional double dippers like Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch.
Last August, Kyle Busch and eventual series champ Brad Keselowski battled it out for the win in the closing laps. Things got physical and Keselowski tried to bump his way by Busch. However, Busch returned the favor by dumping Keselowski to regain the lead. With Keselowski out of the picture, Busch cruised to an easy victory. He led a race-high 116 laps on the night.
Earlier this year, Busch didn’t have near as much trouble reaching Victory Lane. He led 268 of the 300 laps and was unchallenged for a majority of the afternoon. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. enjoyed a brief stint out front, leading 28 laps. However, he finished outside the top 10 and was a non-factor when it mattered. Elliott Sadler was the only non-Cup driver to finish in the top seven.
The Favorites – 2011 Food City 250 Odds, Predictions and Free Picks
Three-time Bristol winner Kyle Busch will be going for a three-peat at the track this weekend. He has seven top-three finishes at Bristol in his career, including three straight. Busch has been simply dominant at the track in his last two victories, and until somebody knocks him off, he is the man to beat whenever the series visits Thunder Valley.
His only win at the track in the Nationwide Series came in 2007, but Carl Edwards has been inching closer to a return trip in recent years. He has five straight finishes of seventh or better, including four top-five finishes. Edwards has finished second on two occasions during the stretch, and it is only a matter of time before he makes a return trip.
Clint Bowyer will climb in the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. machine this weekend, and that could be bad news for the competition. He has finished eighth or better in his last seven starts at Bristol, including three finishes of third or better. Bowyer won at the track in 2008, and he will be looking to get back to Victory Lane this weekend.
The Dark Horses – 2011 Food City 250 Lines, Preview and Expert Picks
He has always been a consistent performer at Bristol, and Brad Keselowski will be looking to continue the trend this weekend. He has eight straight top-15 finishes at the track, including six top-10 finishes. Keselowski won the night race at the track in 2008, finished third in 2009, and was leading last year until being spun by Kyle Busch. When the sun goes down, Keselowski comes alive at Bristol.
Although he has been boom or bust at Bristol in the Nationwide Series, Kasey Kahne has too much potential to ignore. In his last six starts at the track, he has three finishes of second or better and three finishes outside the top 30. Kahne is a former winner at the track in the series, and he finished second earlier this year. He should have a shot to close the deal this weekend.
Sleepers Specials – 2011 Food City 250 Vegas Odds, Expert Predictions and Free Picks
Despite struggling at Bristol in the Cup Series, Joey Logano has had a lot of success at the track in the Nationwide Series. He has four straight top-15 finishes, including a career-best fifth-place finish earlier this year. Kyle Busch is the Joe Gibbs Racing driver often associated with Bristol, but Logano could be on the verge of throwing his name into the conversation.
While the Cup drivers have dominated at Bristol, Jason Leffler is one Nationwide regular that could make some noise this weekend. He has eight straight top-15 finishes at the track, including five straight top 10s. Last August, Leffler finished a career-best second at the track for the second time in his career. If he can get a lucky break, he could steal away a win.
Big Names to Avoid – 2011 Food City 250 Betting Odds, Predictions and Free NASCAR Picks
He has made five starts at Bristol, and Trevor Bayne has failed to finish in the top 15 on four occasions. He has finished as high as sixth, but his next best finish is a 19th-place run. It isn’t uncommon for young drivers to struggle to get a feel for Bristol, and it appears Bayne is dealing with that issue.
Although he did finish a career-best 14th at Bristol earlier this year, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. still has a long way to go to be contender. He has finished outside the top 20 in two of his three starts at the track and hasn’t really had a shot at a top-10 finish in any of his starts. Stenhouse Jr. is a title contender this year, but he probably won’t be contending for anything this weekend.
