2011 Feed the Children 300 Odds, Picks and Predictions – Favorites to Win and Drivers to Watch

2011 Feed the Children 300 Vegas Odds, Free Picks and Predictions – Favorites and Drivers to Bet On to Win the Feed the Children 300: Changes to the Cup Series schedule have made Kentucky Speedway a companion track for the first time in 2011. With both the Cup and Nationwide Series events being held during the same weekend, plenty of big name drivers will be doing double duty. As a result, this weekend’s Nationwide field is one of the toughest in the Kentucky’s history. Friday’s race could be very exciting, and bettors will have plenty of options to pick from.

Last season, Joey Logano capped a Kentucky three-peat in dominant fashion. He started on the pole, led a race-high 106 laps, and cruised to his third win in as many starts at the 1.5-mile track. Reed Sorenson was the only other driver to see significant time at the front of the field, but it was Logano pulling away from fellow Cup regulars Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski down the stretch to remain undefeated at Kentucky.

2011 Feed the Children 300 – The Favorites

To say Joey Logano has been dominant at Kentucky is a major understatement. He has made three starts at the 1.5-mile track, starting on the pole and winning all three times. Logano will try to stay perfect and complete a four-peat at the track this weekend, and he has plenty of momentum on his side after a win at Daytona a week ago.

He has yet to win at Kentucky, but Brad Keselowski has been in the mix in all three of his starts at the track. He has finished fourth or better in all three starts, finishing third in 2009 and 2010. Keselowski’s 3.3 average finish at Kentucky is the second best among active drivers.

Kyle Busch went to Victory Lane at Kentucky in his first start at the track, and he finished second and led the most laps in his most recent start. He has the same Joe Gibbs Racing equipment at his disposal that Joey Logano has used to win the last three races at the track, and Busch has won more races than any other driver in 2011.

2011 Feed the Children 300 – The Dark Horses

Consistency has been hard to come by for Carl Edwards at Kentucky, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t had his moments. He won in his first start at the track, and he finished second in last season’s event. Even though Edwards finished 20th or worse in the four starts in between, he is a proven winner and is on fire in 2011. He shouldn’t be ignored this weekend.

Former Kentucky winner Kevin Harvick has made two starts at the track, and both have been impressive. He won in his Kentucky debut in 2001, and he finished sixth in 2006. After skipping the event the last few seasons, Harvick could remind the rest of the competition just how good he can be at the 1.5-mile oval Friday night.

Powered by Roush Fenway Racing equipment, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has been a stud at the intermediate ovals in 2011. He finished ninth in his only start at Kentucky, and he should easily improve on that result this weekend. Stenhouse Jr. has slipped to third in the series standings, and he will eager to close the gap at a track that favors his strengths.

In two career starts at Kentucky, Justin Allgaier has recorded a pair of top-10 finishes. He finished fifth in his track debut and eighth one year ago, making it very likely he will be in the mix Friday night. Allgaier is one of only three series regulars with a win in 2011, and he could add to that total with an upset at Kentucky.

2011 Feed the Children 300 – Big Names to Avoid

Although he has won several races at 1.5-mile tracks at the Cup level, Kasey Kahne has not had a lot of success at Kentucky. In two Nationwide starts at the track, he has failed to finish inside the top 10. Kahne has finished in the top 20 in both those races, but for a Cup Series regular, those results aren’t all that impressive.

He has finished 16th or better in three career starts at Kentucky, but David Reutimann has never finished in the top five. His best finish was an eighth-place effort in his track debut, and he has failed to crack the top 10 in his two most recent starts. Reutimann brings Cup Series experience, but he just doesn’t deliver elite results at the Nationwide level.
