2011 Dollar General 300 Odds, Predictions, Betting Tips and Free Picks – Favorites and Lines to Win the Dollar General 300: Last weekend, Kevin Harvick showed the advantage that can be gained by running in both the Nationwide and Cup races in the same weekend. Harvick knew that Kansas could be a trouble spot for him during the Cup Series playoffs, and he struggled throughout his Nationwide start at the track. However, he was able to collect enough information during his forgettable Saturday to help his Cup team rally to a sixth-place finish Sunday. Harvick won’t be in the Nationwide field Sunday, but Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski and some other Cup drivers will be. Bettors should not only consider them to be threats Friday night, but they should consider them Saturday night in the Cup race as well.
Last fall, Kyle Busch led the most laps and appeared headed to his seventh win at Charlotte. However, he got shuffled from the lead late, and despite leading a race-high 84 laps, he ended up sixth. Brad Keselowski capitalized and pulled away for the win down the stretch. For Keselowski, it was his first career win at the 1.5-mile track.
In May, three of the best drivers in the sport went toe-to-toe at the front of the field all night. Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth exchanged the lead numerous times, and all three drivers more than 40 laps. Kenseth actually emerged victorious despite leading the fewest laps of the three, and ironically, he was only in the race because fellow Roush Fenway Racing driver Trevor Bayne was dealing with an illness.
The Favorites – 2011 Dollar General 300 Odds, Predictions and Free Picks
Even though he has come up short in his last two starts, Kyle Busch is always a threat to win at Charlotte. He is a six-time winner at the track, and he has 11 top-five finishes all together. Busch has finished sixth or better in eight straight starts at Charlotte, picking up four wins during the stretch.
He has been absolutely unstoppable at the 1.5-mile tracks the last few months, and Brad Keselowski is going for his second straight win in the fall event at Charlotte. He has seven straight finishes of eighth or better at the track and has two top-two finishes in his last three starts. If momentum counts for anything, Keselowski is the favorite this weekend.
Although he hasn’t won at Charlotte since 2006, Carl Edwards has been at or near the front in a majority of his starts at the track. He has seven straight top-15 finishes at the track, including five top-10 finishes. Earlier this year, Edwards finished second, and he should be a threat once again this weekend.
The Dark Horses – 2011 Dollar General 300 Lines, Preview and Expert Picks
He will be back in the No. 32 car this weekend, and Brian Vickers could be a serious threat for the win. He has finished in the top five in his last five starts at Charlotte and has six straight top-15 finishes. Vickers has always been a force at the 1.5-mile tracks, and he could remind the competition of that this weekend.
In six starts at Charlotte, Joey Logano has never finished outside the top 15. More importantly, he has finished in the top five three times, including twice in his last three starts. Logano has been relatively quiet by his standards in the Nationwide Series, but he still has time to make a little noise in 2011.

Even though Justin Allgaier has fallen out of the title fight, he could make some noise this weekend at Charlotte. He has finished in the top 15 in his last five starts at the track and has finished in the top five twice in his last three starts. Allgaier has already pulled off one upset this year, and he could do it again at Charlotte.
After struggling at Charlotte in his first few starts, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. came alive in his start earlier this year. He finished a career-best fourth, and considering he has been strong at the 1.5-mile tracks all year, there is no reason he can’t be a contender again this weekend.
Big Names to Avoid – 2011 Dollar General 300 Betting Odds, Predictions and Free NASCAR Picks
Kasey Kahne has had a ton of success at Charlotte in his racing career, but aside from one Nationwide Series win, most of his success has been at the Cup level. He has just four top-10 finishes in 17 Nationwide starts and has finished 25th or worse six times in his career. Kahne is definitely one of the big names that could struggle this weekend.
He has finished as high as third at Charlotte, but that is Paul Menard’s only top-10 finish in eight career Nationwide starts at the track. Not to mention the fact that he has finished outside the top 15 in five of his starts, including three straight. Menard is driving the normally strong No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevy, but a strong finish from Menard is far from a sure thing.
