2011 Dollar General 300 Odds, Predictions, Betting Tips and Free Picks – Favorites and Lines to Win the Dollar General 300: When a track is part of both the Nationwide and Cup Series schedule, it is rare that the Nationwide Series visits the track more times than the Cup Series. However, that will be the case this weekend when the Nationwide drivers visit Chicagoland Speedway for the second time in 2011. It is the first time the track will host two races in the same year in any series, and it will be interesting to see how the setups from earlier this year hold up Saturday.
Last year, it was the Joe Gibbs Racing show at the front of the field most of the night. Teammates Kyle Busch and Joey Logano took turns leading the race, combining to hold the top spot for 161 of the 200 laps. In the end, it was Busch that had the car to beat, leading a race-high 110 laps and nailing down the win. Logano capped the 1-2 performance for JGR.
The Favorites – 2011 Dollar General 300 Odds, Predictions and Free Picks
After coming up short to Kyle Busch and the No. 18 team last season, Joey Logano will pilot the same car that he lost two one year ago. Logano has a win and a second-place finish in two career starts at Chicagoland, and with Busch out of the picture this weekend, Logano becomes the obvious favorite.
He has yet to win at Chicagoland, but Carl Edwards has come close on several occasions. He has finished sixth or better in five of his seven starts at the track, including a pair of second-place finishes. Edwards finished second at the track earlier this year, and he should be in the mix for the win once again this weekend.
After starting his career with a pair of 10th-place finishes at Chicagoland, Justin Allgaier broke through earlier this year and picked up a win. He will try for the season sweep this weekend, and considering he already got the better of the big names once, there is no reason he can’t do it again.

He has been as consistent as any driver at Chicagoland, and Reed Sorenson will look to add a win to his already impressive resume at the track. He has never finished outside the top 15 in five career starts at the track, and he has recorded four top-10 finishes. Sorenson finished sixth at Chicagoland earlier this year, and he has shown he can keep his car near the front of the field.
If there is a non-Cup driver that could win this weekend, it just might be Jason Leffler. He has finished in the top five in three straight starts at the track, including a fifth-place finish earlier this year. If Leffler can get a little break to go his way, he could get to Victory Lane.
Sleepers Specials – 2011 Dollar General 300 Vegas Odds, Expert Predictions and Free Picks
After finishing outside the top 10 in his first two starts at Chicagoland, Trevor Bayne finished a strong third earlier this year. The Roush Fenway Racing program has been solid at the 1.5-mile tracks this year, which should help Bayne stay in contention for a win once again this weekend.
He has been a forgotten man in 2011, but Aric Almirola has quietly enjoyed a solid year. Earlier this season at Chicagoland, he finished fourth. Almirola could put himself on the map if he can just get a win, and he could have an opportunity to do just that this weekend.
Big Names to Avoid< - 2011 Dollar General 300 Betting Odds, Predictions and Free NASCAR Picks
Normally one of the strongest drivers in the Nationwide Series, Brad Keselowski has struggled at Chicagoland. He has finished outside the top 10 in four of his five starts at the track, including three straight finishes outside the top 15. Earlier this year, Keselowski finished a disappointing 30th.
He has been in the mix for the series title all year, but Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will need to figure out a way to improve on his past results at Chicagoland if he wants to hang on to his current lead. He has yet to crack the top 10 in two starts at the track.
