Vegas odds for tonight’s 2010 MLB Baseball season opening game between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston, MA(8:05 PM EST on ESPN) are now up on NSAwins.com and vegas oddsmakers have made the Red Sox a -115 favorite with the total set at 9 runs. The Red Sox will have Josh Beckett on the mound tonight as he looks to follow up a strong 2009 season with another big season this year. Beckett went 17-6 with a 3.86 ERA in 212.1 innings pitched last season and had 199 strikeouts while giving up just 55 walks. Beckett will be making his 2nd straight opening day start for Boston and he was tremendous last season in a 5-3 win over Tampa Bay. Beckett allowed just one run on two hits with 9 strikeouts over 7 strong innings in last season’s opener. The Yankees will counter with their ace, C.C. Sabathia, on the hill. Sabathia was sensational in his first season in the Bronx last season pitching in the pinstripes, as the husky left-hander went 19-8 with a 3.37 ERA in 230 innings with 197 strikouts and only 67 walks. However, the southpaw didn’t start off well in his first start for the Bronx Bombers after signing a $161 million 7 year contract in the offseason. Sabathia gave up six runs on eight hits in just 4 1-3 innings with five free passes and two wild pitches in a 10-5 setback at Baltimore. He failed to register a strikeout for the first time since July 25, 2005, at Oakland. This will be the 4th time in the last 26 years that these two rivals will open up the season against one another. New York won the last two in 1992 and 2005 at Yankee Stadium. Boston won in 1985 at Fenway Park and will be opening the season at home for only the third time since 1996.
