After a long and brutal road trip and Jays’ flexed their muscles and showed some clutch hitting late in the game before a raucous home crowd. The rally was in large part fueled by a lively and loud Toronto fan base that all did not leave even when Rivera emerged from the pen in the ninth. Travis Snider who went 1-6 on the night had his only hit when it mattered most, delivering on 1 2-2 offering from Rivera and smacking a walk-off double. The third year pro has been highly inconsistent with his time in Toronto and many believed he would not come out of spring training with the big club. He has shown tendencies of greatness but he has been unable, thus far, to provide strings of valiant efforts. The Jays will need him to mold into the player they believe he can be if they have any aspirations of toppling the Yankees for the AL East crown this season. Jose Bautista connected on a Burnett breaking ball last night and added to his season total of homers, he now has 4 on the season. The home-run champ from last season believes he can do it again and is exactly on the same route, as far as home runs go, as last season. He started off slow last year but lit up in the month of May, en-route to 53 homers on the year.
