The 11th ranked Oregon Ducks come into this 2019 season as the Pac 12 favorite after going 9-4 last season. Oregon finished off their season in style with a hard fought 7-6 win over Michigan State in the Redbox Bowl.
Head coach Mario Cristobal had a very good 1st season and now looks to take the Ducks to greater heights in year two. Cristobal welcomes back 19 starters including all 11 on offense. The offensive unit averaged 34.8 ppg last season and should be even more explosive this season. Senior quarterback Justin Herbert will lead the way as he looks to improve upon his 3151 passing yards and 29 touchdowns a year ago.
Defensively, the Ducks weren’t great but weren’t terrible last season. The unit allowed 25.4 ppg but gave up just 15 points and 6 points in their final two games. Look for Oregon to be better defensively this season with 8 starters returning.

The 16th ranked Auburn Tigers are coming off of a 8-5 season. They finished with a bang as they enjoyed a huge 63-14 win over Purdue in the Music City Bowl.
Head coach Gus Malzhan is now 53-27 overall as he heads into his 7th year as Auburn head coach. Malzhan has 13 starters back from last season’s team but will need to replace his starting quarterback from last season, Jason Stidham.
Auburn does welcome back it’s entire starting offensive line so that should make the new quarterback’s job easier. However, the skill positions are lacking and Auburn failed to have a 1000 yard rusher for the first time in almost a decade last year.
Defensively, Auburn should be stout. They welcome back 7 starters from a unit that allowed only two teams to go over 30 points last season. Look for Auburn’s defense to keep them in most games and they will have to with the offense a big question mark.
Oregon vs Auburn Free Pick: Oregon to cover as a +3 point underdog.
