Oregon Ducks vs Auburn Tigers 2011 BCS Championship Game Odds, Preview, Predictions

Oregon Ducks versus Auburn Tigers 2011 BCS Championship Game Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Chip Kelly will lead his Oregon Ducks to University of Phoenix Stadium on Monday night at 8:30 PM ET to take on Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers in the TOSTITOS BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.  The Ducks enter the game at a perfect 12-0 1st in the PAC 10 Conference while the Tigers have refused to lose as well with a handful of comebacks to get to 13-0 and win the SEC Championship.  Oregon leads the FBS in scoring averaging 49.3 points per game and Auburn isn’t far behind at 6th with a 42.7 average per game.

“We’re different but I think we have some similar philosophies,” said Oregon’s Chip Kelly, the AP Coach of the Year. “They obviously run their quarterback a whole heck of lot more than we do. I think Cam Newton can play for anybody, including the NFL,” Kelly said. “He can throw it and he can run it. He’s the top football player in the country.”  “If you look over a 13-game span, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik said. “We have one game left, so he can’t get too big of a head, but I can say he’s probably the best football player I’ve ever seen.”  Vegas odds makers have the Auburn Tigers a -3 point favorite at the University of Phoenix Stadium against the Oregon Ducks.

The Ducks are coming off a victory 37-20 on the road over state rival Oregon State Beavers to finish the season just 6-4-1 ATS.  Quarterback Darron Thomas completed 14 of 24 passes for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns hitting Jeff Maehl with 7 balls for 86 yards.  Running back LaMichael James carried 28 times for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns.  James finished the season with 1,682 yards and 22 touchdowns and third in the Heisman Trophy voting.  The total has gone OVER in 4 of Oregon’s last 6 games.

The Auburn Tigers were victorious at the Georgia Dome 56-17 over the South Carolina Gamecocks for the SEC Championship game and finished the season an impressive 9-3 ATS.  Quarterback Cam Newton completed 17 of 28 passes for 335 yards and 4 touchdowns while carrying the ball 14 times for an additional 73 yards and 2 more scores.  Odds makers at SBG Global have the over/under for the total score at 74 points combined of the Oregon Ducks and Auburn Tigers.

I predict an Oregon upset and National Championship for the Ducks!
