National Sports Advisors FBS College Football Power Top 25 Week 12 Rankings: For the first time in weeks there have not been a bevy of upsets in the Top 25 FBS College football standings although there were some close games, some blowouts, and a few upsets toward the bottom of the rankings. No. 1 Oregon Ducks won a closer than expected game against now 5-5 California on the road just 15-13 way below their average points per game and margin of victory. Then No. 7 Stanford snuggled to a win 17-13 over the Arizona State Sun Devils with a fourth quarter touchdown on the road as well. No. 2 Auburn amidst the Heisman Quarterback Candidate Cam Newton NCAA infraction for being paid to go to a school controversy won 49-31 over the Georgia Bulldogs but the Tigers are known for blowouts just winning. Finally No. 4 TCU won on the road by just 5 points beating San Diego State at home 40-35 losing many style points. Vegas odds makers have the TCU Horned Frogs +450 odds to win the 2011 BCS National Championship.
On the upset road was USC over then No. 19 Arizona Wildcats 24-21 in the Pac 10. Also losing was No. 15 Utah Utes on the road at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 28-3 for their 2nd consecutive loss. And finally then No. 12 Iowa was beaten by the Northwestern Wildcats 21-17 in the Big Ten. This week’s games provide some interesting matchups, first in the Big Ten where No. 7 Wisconsin Badgers scored 83 points against the Indiana Hoosiers last weekend against the Michigan Wolverines who have a hard time stopping anyone but can also score on anyone. This could be the highest scoring event in college football history. Vegas odds makers have the Wisconsin Badgers a -4 ½ point favorite on the road against the Michigan Wolverines.
I like the Michigan Wolverines to cover at home. Go Big Blue!
