Miami (FL) Hurricanes at Clemson Tigers 2010 NCAAF Week 5 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Miami (FL) Hurricanes at Clemson Tigers 2010 NCAAF Week 5 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Randy Shannon with take his Miami Hurricanes on the road to Death Valley for an ACC match up against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday at 12:00 Noon ET on ESPN2.  Coach Shannon is concerned about stopping the Tigers running game.  “They’ve got two good tailbacks in Harper and Ellington,” Shannon said. “Real good running backs. Those guys are very explosive.  Ellington is probably the fastest and Harper is a bigger guy. But he has speed also. They’re not going to change what they’ve been doing.”   Watching C. J. Spiller with the Buffalo Bills it’s easy to see why Clemson needs at least two players to replace him.  Miami’s defense is 2nd in the FBS in sacks averaging 4.67 per game but Clemson has only allowed 2 through three games.  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Hurricanes a -3 1/2 point favorite on the road against the Clemson Tigers.

Miami is coming off a road win against Big East rival Pittsburgh Panthers where they shut down Pitt winning 31-3 last Thursday evening.  Quarterback Jacory Harris completed 21 of 32 passes for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns but continued to be inconsistent with 2 more interceptions.  Running back Damien Berry carried the ball 21 times for 87 yards including a 1 yard touchdown run in the first quarter to open the scoring. The defense was dominant with 5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and just 232 net yards allowed.  For Miami to win at Clemson the defense will need to continue to play well and Harris will need to be more careful with the ball.  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Hurricanes +6000 odds to win the 2011 BCS National Championship.

It took overtime but the Tigers lost at Auburn in a tough battle with an SEC power 27-24 dropping Clemson to 2-1.  Quarterback Kyle Parker completed 21 of 35 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns but Andre Ellington ran away with the ball for Clemson carrying 22 times for 143 yards and a score.  Ellington also caught 4 balls for 48 additional yards.  The offense will have its work cut out against a tough Miami defense.  “They’re kind of like Sears and Roebuck — you open up the catalog and pick what you want, and they’re exactly what you’d order.” — Clemson offensive coordinator Billy Napier on Miami’s defensive personnel.  Odds makers at JustBet have the over/under for the total score at 46 1/2 points combined of the Miami (FL) Hurricanes and Clemson Tigers.

I predict a Canes victory on the road! Note: Rich Fritz is a Blog Writer on NSAwins.com and not a pro handicapper. For expert College Football Predictions against the vegas spreads please visit the NSAwins.com homepage for top predictions today from the National Sports Advisors.
