From the Observation Deck – Jan. 11

Auburn/Oregon – I am not a big college football fan but I tuned in because it was the big game.  I liked Oregon’s uniforms and their helmets are awesome…but their team not so much….  They are too gimmicky for my taste and their coach seems like quite the tool… I didn’t think Auburn was that hot either and I can say one thing for sure, neither QB is NFL-caliber, period.  Newton is a run threat but that won’t fly in NFL and his throwing ability is mediocre at best.  I did like Auburn’s DT Fairley and thought he was a difference maker for them.  However, the longer the game went the more boring it got and I fell asleep before the end… I’m sorry it just wasn’t a good game.  That’s the best college ball has to offer?  Enough of the gimmick offenses, too.

Jets/Colts – Indy lost that game more than the Jets won it, okay?  The Colts tried to run too much and they just let their best receiver become a decoy.  Where was the motion to get Revis off him or the crossing routes or pick plays to free him up?  …and don’t get me started with the piss-poor clock management that gave NY a chance to win at the end.  Kudo’s to the Jets for beating Manning and all but the Colts and their coach, Jim Clueless basically gift-wrapped it for them.

Philly/Green Bay – If Green Bay gets that sort of production in the running game from here on out, they will be tough to beat.  Having said all that, they still let Philly have a chance to win at the end until Vick’s interception.  And speaking of Vick, where are all the “Vick for MVP” pundits now?  The silence is deafening!

Seattle/New Orleans – Look I know its tough to repeat and all that, but Seattle???  C’mon…that was a pathetic effort on defense by the Saints…you made Hasslebeck look like Joe Montana and I’ve seen better tackling in youth games…  How is that Greg Williams guy held in such high regard as a DC???  That game just ruined any chance that guy had for a head job, I’ll tell you that!

KC/Baltimore – Was that any surprise?  Uhhh, no.  KC played scared and were exposed as frauds…  nice year but once Bowe was taken out of the equation, Cassel had no one to go to plus he looked like he heard footsteps and was nervous…
