Free Football Picks from FSR Blog writer David E(aka “The Pigskin Guy”)
Up and down week last week. 3-0 in NCAAF and 2-4 in NFL. This week is my favorite football week of the year! Nothing beats chowing down on some turkey while watching pigskin on the tube while the wife goes out shopping! The house all to myself and the dogs, gotta love it! Please note that I am NOT affiliated with the NSAwins.com professional handicapping division. Let’s get back on track this week. Here we go…
2009 NCAAF RECORD: 19-11-1 63%
2009 NFL RECORD: 34-32-1 52%
2009 OVERALL: 53-43-2 55%
THE PIGSKIN GUY’S College Football Free Picks for 11/26/09 thru 11/28/09
Texas -21(Thanksgiving Day) – Texas took A&M behind the woodshed 49-9 last season and A&M has been taking behind the woodshed a couple times this season(65-10 vs Oklahoma, 47-19 vs Arkansas, 62-14 vs Kansas St). Nothing leads me to believe that it will be any different this season versus a Texas team that is rolling. Texas by 4 TD’s plus.
West Virginia Pk(Friday) – This is a HUGE rivalry and Pitt has won the last two seasons. WVU will be salivating to get the win friday night at home in front of a raucous crowd. Win or lose, Pitt still will play at home vs Cincinnati for the Big East Championship and BCS bowl berth. This game means more to WVU than it does to Pitt.
Connecticut -13.5(Saturday) – Uconn is riding high after last saturday’s OT win at Notre Dame and will look to send the seniors out the right way with a big win in their last home game saturday versus a bad Syracuse team. Look for Uconn to come out motivated and romp.
TCU -44.5(Saturday) – TCU will have it’s way and then some over a New Mexico team that is among the worst teams in the entire nation. TCU has been absolutely POUNDING every team week after week and there should be no let up this week. TCU by at least 7 TD’s.
THE PIGSKIN GUY’S NFL Football Free Picks for 11/26/09 thru 11/30/09
Green Bay -11(Thanksgiving) – Detroit is improving and beat Cleveland sunday to enter this game feeling good about themselves but that won’t help once the ball gets kicked off. The Packers already beat detroit 26-0 at home and should win again Thanksgiving Day by a couple of TD’s. Lay the points.
Dallas -13.5(Thanksgiving) – Oakland has sprung a couple of nice upset wins this season against Philly and Cincinnati. However, that was at home and now they must travel on the road in a short week of preparation to face a Dallas team that is used to playing on the short week and a Dallas team that is focused on winning the NFC East. Dallas in a blowout.
Denver +6.5(Thanksgiving) – The Donkeys and their arrogant head coach josh McDaniels have been getting the reality check they deserved the last 4 weeks. Did anyone honestly believe that “The Kid” was that much of a better coach than predecessor Mike Shanahan? Puhleaze. We have found out Denver’s talent is still not much better than last year’s edition that faded down the stretch. Anyway, having said that, I look for the Donkey’s to play tough and cover against a Gmen squad that has been struggling mightily themselves the last 5 weeks.
Houston +3.5(Sunday) – The Colts may be undefeated but they are living on the edge. They should have lost to New England and Baltimore the last two weeks. Give them credit for pulling them out but now they face a Houston squad that gave them a tough game a few weeks ago in Indy before losing 20-17 and a team that desperately needs a win at 5-5 to keep it’s AFC wildcard hopes alive.
Washington +9(Sunday) – The Redskins played Dallas tough last sunday and now face another NFC East foe on the road this sunday at Philly. Philly has been struggling to win games nevermind blow teams out of late and I don’t see that changing sunday against a Redskins team that has been playing better of late.
Tennessee -1(Sunday) – The Titans are rolling after winning their 4th straight game monday at Houston. Who would’ve thunk it after they got their asses kicked in 59-0 at New England last month? Anyway, look for the Titans to keep it rolling sunday.
Chicago +11(Sunday) – It’s backs against the wall time for the Bears. At 4-6 they cannot afford a loss sunday against division rival Minnesota. These teams know each other well so I don’t expect a big blowout. 5 of the last 6 meetings have been decided by 10 points or less and I look for the Bears to keep this one at 10 points or less.
San Diego -13.5(Sunday) – The Chargers are rolling at 7-3 after pounding Denver in Denver last sunday to take control of the AFC West. Now they face a Chiefs team that they already destroyed 37-7 in KC last month. Look for more of the same this sunday.
New England +3(Monday) – I’ve been saying it for weeks and I will say it again. New Orleans is a FRAUD. They have absolutely feasted on bottom feeders all season. Out of their 10 wins, only mediocre Philadelphia, Giants and possibly Atlanta and Miami squads can be counted on to even be in the playoff hunt in a few weeks nevermind make them. Look for New England to get the bitter taste of their Indy loss on national TV 2 weeks ago out of their mouths with a big road win monday night.
