Florida Gators at Florida State Seminoles 2010 NCAAF Week 13 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Florida Gators at Florida State Seminoles 2010 NCAAF Week 13 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Urban Meyer will lead his retooled Florida Gators on the road to play in state rival the Florida State Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM ET.  Gone are the days that the Florida, Florida State, and Miami winner when they all played each other usually had a chance at a national championship, and now we have a young Gator team against a first year head football coach Jimbo Fisher at the helm for the Seminoles.  Fisher has a chance to do what Bobby Bowden never did; beat an Urban Meyer led Gator team, as Meyer is 5-0 against the Seminoles.  “I think we’ve gotten much better,” Fisher said Monday, cautioning that he believes the unranked Gators are still an elite team despite their four losses. “They’re still a very, very talented football team.” Quarterback Tim Tebow is now with the Denver Broncos and he wreaked havoc on Florida State defenses with both running and passing.  “Tim was one of the great players in college football history,” Fisher said. “Not only for his physical play, but the impact he had on his teammates.”  Vegas odds makers have the Florida State Seminoles a -2 point favorite at home against the Florida Gators.

Florida State was victorious on the road 30-16 against ACC rival Maryland moving them to 5-5 ATS for the season.  Quarterback Christian Ponder completed 16 of 26 passes for 170 yards a touchdown and a pick hitting Bert Reed with 6 balls for 93 yards and a score.  Running back Chris Thompson carried 8 times for 95 including a 70 yard touchdown run.  Florida State is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games at home.  The Seminoles are ranked at 23th in the FBS College Football Power Top 25 Week 13 Rankings.

The Gators routed Appalachian State 48-10 at home in their last contest to move to 4-5-1 ATS for the season.   Quarterback John Brantley completed 16 of 22 passes for 222 yards and a pick hitting Thompson with 6 balls for 100 yards receiving.  Running back Jordan Reed carried 11 times for 71 yards and 3 touchdowns.  The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Florida’s last 6 games when playing Florida State.  Odds makers at BetUS have the over/under for the total score at 51 points combined of the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles.

I predict the Seminoles will start a new era with a victory. Go Noles!
