National Sports Advisors FBS College Football Power Top 25 Week 2 Rankings: Alabama rolled, Florida and Texas won marginally, the Buckeyes and the Broncos had impressive wins as the 2010 College football season kicked off with its usual excitement the past weekend. The biggest upset of the week came outside the top 25 as the Mississippi Rebels lost 49-48 to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks the first win against a FBS team since 2001. ”Without a doubt, it’s the worst loss of my career,” Ole Miss Coach Houston Nutt said. The two ranked teams losing this week were the Virginia Tech Hokies in a Monday night nail biter 33-30 by the Boise State Broncos and the Pittsburgh Panthers in an opening night loss 27-24 at the Utah Utes. Embattled head football coach Rich Rodriguez got a big win 30-10 over up and coming Connecticut Huskies with a huge game from sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson who had just been named the starter prior to kickoff. Headlining the Top 25 action will be the number 11 Penn State Nittany Lions traveling to Tuscaloosa to play the number 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in a matchup against the college football’s all-time winningest coach Joe Paterno pitted against 2 time National Championship coach Nick Saban. Vegas odds makers have the Alabama Crimson Tide a -11 1/2 point favorite at home against the Penn State Nittany Lions.
