2018 Week 7 College Football Picks & Predictions – #2 Georgia @ #13 LSU Odds & Free Pick 10/13/18
Game: #2 Georgia @ #13 LSU
Line: Georgia -7 at Bovada Sportsbook
Total: Over/Under 49
Where: Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, LA
Time: 3:30 PM EST
Date: Saturday, October 13th
The 2nd ranked Georgia Bulldogs come into this week with a perfect 6-0 overall record and 3-3 against the spread. The Bulldogs are now 4-0 in the SEC East Division after crushing Vanderbilt 41-13 last Saturday in Athens.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is building an absolute beast of a power in his 3rd year at the helm in Athens. The former protégé under Alabama head coach Nick Saban, Smart is now 27-7 thru 34 games as Georgia head coach and he looks like he is building a power in the SEC East Division that’s almost on par with what Alabama has done for the last decade in the SEC West Division.
The Bulldogs have been flat out dominant this season on both sides of the ball. The Georgia offense is putting up 485.2 yards per game and 7.5 yards per play while having tremendous balance. The Georgia passing game puts up 245.2 yards per game while the running game averages 240 yards per game. Defensively, the Bulldogs are allowing just 283.2 yards per game and 4.5 yards per play.
The 13th ranked LSU Tigers return home to Baton Rouge this week with a 5-1 overall record and 3-3 against the spread. The Tigers dropped their first game of the season last week in The Swamp as they lost 27-19 to the Florida Gators. The Tigers are now 2-1 in the SEC West Division.
The Tigers have been better then advertised so far this season in head coach Ed Orgeron’s second full season as LSU head coach. Orgeron is now 20-7 thru 2 plus years on the job and he’s solidified himself as the right man for the job in our eyes. LSU owns impressive wins over Miami-FL and Auburn so far this season and could have won last week at Florida with a few plays going their way. LSU is for real folks.
The LSU offense comes in averaging just 392.5 yards per game and 5.6 yards per play this season. However, they are very balanced and average 190 yards thru the air and 202.5 yards on the ground. Defensively, the Tigers allow just 343.3 yards per game and 4.8 yards per play.
We look for this to a classic hard fought and physical SEC war. These two teams have strength and speed all over the field and neither team should pull away. Georgia is clearly the better team but you can’t count LSU out with the home crowd behind them and they will be hungry to get back in the win column after losing last week. We look for Georgia to pull it out in a close one but for LSU to cover the spread.
#2 Georgia @ #13 LSU Free Pick and Score Prediction: LSU to cover as a +7 point underdog.
