The 3rd ranked Georgia Bulldogs head into their SEC opener with a 1-0 overall record after thoroughly dominating and taking part Austin Peay last week to the tune of 45-0. Georgia and Autin Peay mutually agreed to end the game 5 minutes early as Georgia was simply beating down the Austin Peay players like a drum. It was that bad.

The Bulldogs will face a stiffer test this week when they go on the road to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. Head coach Will Muschamp had to have liked what he saw last week out of his team after they cake walked past Coastal Carolina by a final score of 49-15. The offensive display was a welcoming sight to Muschamp after the Gamecocks finished 99th in the nation last season in scoring at just 24.2 points per game. The 49 point output last week eclipsed anything the offense did last season as they only broke 40 points one time last year in a 48-22 win over Arkansas.

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart is building not just a SEC power but a national power in his 3rd season on the job in Athens. Smart has 13 starters back from last season’s team that won the SEC Championship and narrowly lost the National Championship Game to Alabama 26-23 in overtime. Smart is 22-7 in his two plus season so far as Bulldogs head coach.

South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp is doing a solid job himself in his 3rd season as head coach. Muschamp is 16-11 in his two plus years rebuilding the Gamecocks program and has 13 starters back from last season’s 9-4 team that finished 5-3 in the SEC.

This week will be the SEC opener for both schools and each team is ranked inside the AP Top 25 this week. The Bulldogs won last year’s matchup by a score of 24-10 on November 4th, 2017 in Athens.
