2018 College Football Team Wins Over/Under Odds & Predictions
Florida Atlantic(Bet to Win OVER 9 Games) – Head coach Lane Kiffin showed up on the scene in Boca Raton last fall and turned this program around in no time. Kiffin led the Owls to an 11-3 overall record including 8-0 in CUSA play en route to the CUSA Championship. The Owls beat North Texas 41-17 to win the CUSA Championship Game and then blasted Akron 50-3 in the Boca Raton Bowl to end the season with a bang. Kiffin welcomes back 15 starters from last season’s squad including 10 on defense and 5 on offense. The offensive unit finished 8th in the country in scoring last season with a 40.6 points per game average and should put up similar numbers this season led by junior running back Devin Singletary(301 att, 1920 yards, 32 touchdowns in 2017). Singletary is the best offensive weapon in the conference and should put up video game numbers again this season. The defense finished 34th in the nation in scoring allowing just 22.7 points per game last season and should better that this season with pretty much the entire starting defense back in the fold. 2018 Projection 12-1, 8-0 CUSA
Ohio Bobcats(Bet to Win OVER 8.5 Games) – The Bobcats finished 9-4 overall including 5-3 in the MAC last season under head coach Frank Solich who is now 97-71 after 13 seasons as the head man in Athens. The Bobcats finished the season with a dominant 41-6 win over UAB in the Bahamas Bowl to help spring board them into the 2018 season. The Bobcats will be looking to win the school’s 1st MAC Football Championship since 1968 this season and expectations are high. The team brings back 13 starters from last year’s squad including 9 on offense. The offense was lights out last season finishing 9th nationally in scoring at 39.1 ppg. Junior quarterback Nathan Rourke is back to lead the unit and he was superb last season as he tossed for 2203 yards to go along with 912 yards rushing and was responsible for 39 touchdowns combined. Senior running back A.J. Ouellette is also back after rushing for 1006 yards and 7 touchdowns last year. Defensively, the Bobcats have 4 starters back on a unit that finished 44th in the country by allowing 24.2 ppg. 2018 Projection 10-3, 6-2 MAC
Texas Longhorns(Bet to Win OVER 8.5 Games) – Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman had a solid debut season last year as he led the Longhorns to a 7-6 overall record including 5-4 in the Big 12. The Longhorns capped off the season in style with a 33-16 win over Missouri in the Texas Bowl and big things are expected in Austin this season with 12 returning starters back in the fold. The Longhorns welcome back 6 starters on an offensive unit that finished 52nd nationally last season with a scoring output of 29.5 ppg. Sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger will battle it out with junior quarterback Shane Buechele for the starting job with Ehlinger most likely being the man to start the season behind center for the Horns. Ehlinger threw for 1915 yards and 11 touchdowns last season in addition to running for 385 yards and 2 touchdowns in a solid freshman debut. The Horns will need to improve considerably on offense if they plan on winning the Big 12 but they have the pieces to do just that. Defensively, the Horns finished a respectable 29th in the nation last season giving up 21.2 ppg and they have 6 starters back to help those numbers improve considerably. Defensive coordinator Todd Orlando is one of the best in the business and was given a nice pay raise up to $1.7 million for the next 3 seasons after impressing Herman last year. The Horns defense led the Big 12 in 3rd down defense and the entire nation with 7 defensive touchdowns. Look for the Horns defense to be one of the top 15 units in the nation this season and lead the Horns to a terrific season. 2018 Projection 11-2, 7-2 Big 12
