The Stanford Cardinal come into this week 3 matchup with an overall record of 1-1 after last week’s 42-24 loss at USC. Stanford failed to cover the spread as a +4 point underdog and is now 1-1 against the spread on the season.

Stanford was thoroughly outclassed on both sides of the ball against USC as they were outgained 623 yards to 342. The way the Stanford defense was used and abused against the Trojans was shocking to see as Stanford has 8 starters back from last season’s 18th ranked national unit in scoring at only 20.8 ppg. However, many teams will look bad going up against USC’s offense this season with projected top NFL draft pick, quarterback Sam Darnold, running the show.
