2017 College Football Picks & Predictions – Week 2 Free Picks for NCAAF Saturday 9/2/17: The 2017 College Football season officially gets underway on Saturday, August 26th with week 1 games. However, there are only five games on a light schedule in week 1 and we will only be having premium college football expert picks for our paying members only. However, week 2 college football is a different story as there are games galore starting on Thursday, August 31st and running thru Labor Day weekend with week 2 games on Sunday, September 3rd and on Monday, September 4th. We are focusing in on a big board on Saturday, September 2nd for our weekly edition of free college football picks and we have three free picks for week 2 posted below.

2017 College Football Picks & Predictions – Week 2 Free Picks for NCAAF Saturday 9/2/17

Free Pick: Bet On Akron +33 at Penn State – The Penn State Nittany Lions are a popular pick to be in the College Football Playoff this season with 16 starters back from last season’s Big Ten Championship team that went 11-3 overall and 8-1 in the Big Ten. The offense will be explosive with 10 starters back from a unit that scored 37.6 points per game to finish 21st nationally last season. However, the defense gave up 25.4 points per game to end up 47th nationally last year and they could struggle early this season with just 6 starters back and some big question marks in our eyes especially at defensive end and the outside linebacker positions. Meanwhile, Akron is went 5-7 last year and is your typical run-of-the-mill mid major that has a terrible defense but can move the ball and score points. Penn State will roll in this game but cover -33 this early in the season with a mediocre defense is a tall order. Play Akron +33 points.

Free Pick: Bet On USC -27 vs Western Michigan – The USC Trojans have the talent to win the PAC 12 this season and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. The offense should be explosive with sophomore quarterback Sam Darnold leading the way as he is the consensus choice to be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft if he decides to come out after this season. The Trojans offense was superb under Darnold last season as he led the team to a 9-1 finish and the unit ended up scoring 34.4 points per game to finish 36th nationally. Darnold threw for 3086 yards and 31 touchdowns and he should be lights out this season for a talented Trojans offensive roster. The Trojans will be pretty good defensively too as 6 starters are back from a solid unit that allowed just 24.2 points per game to finish 38th in the country. Meanwhile, Western Michigan has 12 starters back from last season’s 13-1 team but will have to replace quarterback Zach Terrell and all-American wide receiver Corey Davis. The Broncos will be a top team in the MAC but they will struggle mightily early on especially against a powerhouse like USC. Lay the points and watch USC roll by 5 plus touchdowns.

Free Pick: Bet On OVER 68 Points Louisville at Purdue – The Louisville Cardinals have 2016 Heisman Trophy Winner Lamar Jackson back for his junior season at quarterback and that makes head coach Bobby Petrino a happy man. The Cardinals offense was sensational last year as it put up 42.5 points per game to finish 6th in the nation and the unit should be in the same ball park this season. Only 4 starters return on the offense but with Jackson at the controls the Cards should start the season humming against a weak sister Purdue defense. Purdue was horrendous on both sides of the ball last season as they finished 101st in scoring at 24.6 points per game and 117th in scoring defense at a whopping 38.3 points per game. The good news for Boilermakers fans is they made a great hire in new head coach Jeff Brohm who is an offensive mastermind. Brohm was the architect of Western Kentucky’s great offenses the past few years and he should get Purdue’s offense humming sooner rather than later. Put us down for the OVER in this game as points should be a plenty.
