TCU @ Minnesota(OVER 58) – TCU returns 10 starters on the offensive side of the ball from a unit that ranked 2nd in the nation last season scoring 46.5 points per game. The offense scored 40 or more points in 9 of their 13 games and should be even more explosive this season. These two teams played last season in Fort Worth in Week 3 with TCU winning 30-7, which was ironically the fewest points TCU scored in any game last season. You had best believe that TCU head coach Gary Patterson and co-offensive coordinators Sonny Cumbie and Doug Meacham have let quarterback Trevone Boykin and the TCU offensive unit know all about that all summer in preparation for this game. Look for TCU’s offense to be highly motivated and put up points in bunches. Play the OVER.

Charlotte @ Georgia State(OVER 74) – The Charlotte 49ers are just in their 3rd season since the school started it’s football program and this season will be their first in Conference USA. Head coach Brad Lambert’s young squad went a respectable 5-6 last season against FCS competition but this season will certainly endure a lot of growing pains against FBS competition. Having said that, the offense is pretty explosive and had 22 touchdown drives in under a minute and a half last season and welcomes back 7 returning starters. The 49ers will be going up against the Georgia State Panthers squad that went just 1-11 last season including 0-8 in the Sun Belt. The Eagles were absolutely terrible on defense last season as they ranked 125th nationally giving up 43.3 points per game. Look for this game to be high scoring as neither team has a good defense and both teams return veteran quarterbacks that should be able to hang up a lot of points offensively. Take the OVER.

Northern Illinois -23 over UNLV – This game looks like a big time mismatch on paper and we expect it to reflect just how big a mismatch it really is on the final scoreboard. UNLV returns just 7 starters from a team that finished just 2-11 last season. The Rebels welcome new head coach Tony Snachez who is a legend in the state of Nevada for winning six straight state titles at Bishop Gorman including the high school national championship last season. However, as good a coach as he is he won’t be able to do much with this year’s UNLV roster. On the other hand, head coach Rod Carey welcomes back 14 starters from a Northen Illinois Huskies team that went 11-3 last season and won the MAC Championship. The Huskies welcome back quarterback Drew Hare who passed for 2,322 yards and rushed for 900 yards last season. Look for Northern Illinois to romp at home. Lay the points.
