Hilton – the defending Sun Belt player of the year. The Panthers QB Wesley Carroll provides senior leadership under center, and the steadily improving Panthers could be ready to take the next step.

The toughest player to defend in the Sun Belt may be Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Kolton Browning. The defense has plenty of starters of back as well, making the Warhawks a dangerous opponent for the rest of the conference, including the frontrunners.
The Sun Belt gets a little thin after the top three teams, but North Texas has one big asset working in its favor. The Mean Green has two-time conference first-team selection Lance Dunbar toting the rock, and if he can get any kind of help from his offensive line, North Texas should be able wear down opposing defenses this season. Stopping teams could be another story, and North Texas has to avoid falling behind in games in order to take full advantage of Dunbar.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves have some legitimate parts on both offense and defense, but there is one glaring issue that could kill their season.
