2010 Big 12 Conference Football Odds and Predictions – Nebraska, Texas the Favorites

Vegas odds to win the 2010 Big 12 Football Championship are now posted on NSAwins.com and vegas linemakers have installed Texas the 2/1 +200 favorite to win the 2010 Big 12 Championship with both Oklahoma and Nebraska closely behind at 5/2 +250 odds. Texas is the +140 favorite to win the 2010 Big 12 South Divsion slightly ahead of their arch-rival, Oklahoma(+140 odds to win Big 12 South). Texas head coach Mack Brown welcomes back 6 returning starters on offense and 7 returning starters on defense from his 2009 Texas team that lost to #1 Alabama 37-21 in the BCS National Championship game. Brown will replace departing QB Colt McCoy with talented sophomore Garret Gilbert but will also have to replace three departed all-conference offensive linemen from last year’s team. The defense must replace a 1st round NFL draft slecetion in safety Earl Thomas and Ted Hendricks Award finalist Sergio Kindle from last year’s stout unit. The good news for Texas fans is the cupboard is stocked full with loads of talented recruits and Texas should be ranked in the Top 10 all season long and be one of the nation’s top teams come bowl season. If Texas can survive their always tough annual matchup with Oklahoma on October 2nd in Dallas, than odds are strong Texas will find itself back in the Big 12 Championship game this season. In the Big 12 North, Nebraska is the strong 1/1 +100 favorite to capture the Big 12 North division crown once again this season. Cornhuskers head coach Bo Pelini welcomes back 10 starters on offense and 7 on defense from last season’s Big 12 runner-up squad. While the offense should be improved from last season’s unit that struggled at times to move the ball and put up points, it’s the defense that should once again be the reason why the Huskers return to the Big 12 title game. Nebraska must find a way to replace Heisman Finalist Ndamukong Suh who departed for the millions that the NFL threw his way, but the returning “Blackshirts” as they are called should be up to the task. Look for Nebraska to be ranked in the Top 10 when they get their regular season rematch with Texas on October 16th at home in Lincoln. NSAwins.com’s expert handicapper Gerry “BIG CAT” Andino looks for Nebraska to win the 2010 Big 12 Championship by defeating Texas two times – once in the regular season and again in the Big 12 Championship game in December.
