2019 SEC Tournament Odds & Predictions
The Favorites
Kentucky(+150 odds to win) – Kentucky went 26-5 overall in the regular season and 15-3 in the SEC. The Wildcats have owned this tournament forever. It’s almost a shock when they don’t win it. Kentucky has won the SEC Tournament a remarkable 31 times and the last 4 years in a row. The rest of the SEC has only combined to win the SEC Tournament 27 times. Kentucky is the #2 seed and gets a bye the first two rounds.
Tennessee(+175 odds to win) – Tennessee finished the regular season 27-4 overall and 15-3 in the SEC. The Volunteers choked away a chance to earn a share of the SEC regular season title with a loss at Auburn on Saturday. That loss is a prime example of why many naysayers aren’t buying into Tennessee’s National Championship hopes. Head coach Rick Barnes always seems to come up small in the biggest of games and that hasn’t changed this season.
LSU(+450 odds to win) – LSU won the regular season SEC Championship by going 16-2 in SEC play and finished 26-5 overall. The Tigers have the #1 overall seed in the SEC Tournament but have big time question marks going forward. Head coach Will Wade has been suspended by the school for not answering questions in an internal investigation about the FBI wiretapping his phone calls in regards to the recruitment of freshman guard Javonte Smart. Smart also didn’t play in the season finale against Vanderbilt. It’s hard to get on LSU’s bandwagon with those storm clouds hanging over.
