The Favorites
Virginia(+125 odds to win) – Virginia enters this tournament as the #1 seed and the small favorite to win. The Cavaliers finished the regular season 28-2 overall and 16-2 in ACC play. Virginia won the 2018 ACC Tournament and it was their 3rd ACC Tournament title in school history. They also won in 2014 and have reached the title game in 3 of the last 5 season.
Duke(+150 odds to win) – Duke concluded the regular season with a 26-5 overall record and 14-4 in ACC play. The Blue Devils struggled down the stretch without star Zion Williamson. However, Williamson is expected back at some point in the ACC Tournament and Duke will be the toughest out when he is back on the floor. No question. Duke last won the ACC Tournament in 2017 and has won the event a record 20 times.
North Carolina(+300 odds to win) – North Carolina went 26-5 overall and finished tied with Virginia at 16-2 to earn a share of the regular season ACC title. However, Virginia won the tiebreaker and UNC is the #2 seed in this tournament. That’s a bad draw, in our opinion, because they will most likely have to beat Duke for a 3rd time this season in the semifinals. That’s a tough ask with Williamson back in the fold. The Tar Heels last won the ACC Tournament in 2016 and has won it 18 times in school history.
